A Standalone novel
To the outside world, Kray Brooks had it all growing up.

Good grades.

All of it a lie, except her. The woman he left behind thirteen years ago to try and achieve his real dream... to become a musician.

Life doesn't always go according to the plan you set out for yourself.
Sometimes, you drift. Become lost, lose hope and crash.

For thirteen years he's been drifting wherever his guitar takes him, avoiding his past. Never thinking of his future.
Not once did he think it would all catch up to him. Until it did.

Oh my heart. This book is by far one of my favorites. No matter how "Alpha" a man is, he can't succeed to be his full potential without a wonderful , caring, giving, and loving heart of a woman who doesn't judge him by who he looks like, acts like or what has happened to him in his past, but by forgiveness to help put their future together in front of them. Don't pass this book up, you'll regret it.

The Drifter by Kathy Coopmans is a stand alone second-chance contemporary romance. Told in dual POV, this book is an in depth look into the lives of Kray and Rori and how one decision altered their lives forever. It is about forgiveness for making that devastating choice and understanding the motivation behind that decision. The sexual chemistry between these two characters is off the charts and Kray is NOT your typical romance novel lead. He isn't an alpha but he is also no longer a meek boy that just takes it and internalizes his pain. He is understanding and compassionate and very likeable. This book has a lot of internal thoughts throughout and I felt like I got a little lost inside the character's brains at times which is why it wasn't quite a 5-star read for me but it didn't fall short of it.

The most emotional book I ever read from Ms. Coopmans Prepare your Kleenex. This story is heart wrenching. The most emotional book I ever read from Ms. Coopmans. I am so grateful that I got the chance to read the ARC of this beautiful story. This book not only is very emotional but hot as well. Sometimes money is not enough. You have to find your own destiny to know who you really are. Being a drifter is not very easy. You are willing to let go of everything you got to chase your own dreams. If you love to read family matters, music and hotness in one, Drifter is an amazing book for you to read. This book has so much emotions, beautiful friendship in a very extra ordinary ways. The best book I ever read from the author. I really LOVED Kray And Rori. These two has been separated for so many long years that catching up is not easy but being connected intimately is a must.

Emotions, everywhere!! Ms. Coopmans' always has a way of finding a way for her readers to relate to every one of her characters! This is, by far, my favorite book of hers!! If life wouldn't be so busy as to get in the way, it would have been read in one setting. This is a beautiful story, full of heartbreak and strength. A solid 5 stars and recommended to anyone who is yearning to find hope and love. There are many lessons within. *tissues necessary

I absolutely loved The Drifter. This book is so different from all the other Kathy Coopman's books, but equally amazing. You better get tissues ready because you're going to need them. My heart broke in two at the torment that Kray suffered under the all controlling power of his father and and unloving nature of his mother. This led him to make a choice that changed his life and the life of the only person he loved and who loved him unconditionally. No 18-year-old should have to make the choice that he made. Rori was left broken and devastated but she fought against all odds to become the success she is today. 13 years later her life is forever changed again when she runs into the man who left her broken and shattered years before. This is a totally heartbreaking but beautiful love story. I love second chance romances and this one has everything I love. My completely broken and shattered heart was put back together again by experiencing their pain, passion, love, and forgiveness and by watching Kray learn to believe in himself again. I adored this book! It's most definitely a 5 star read for me!
