I simply could not put this down after I purchased thanks to an interesting sample read. It was worth every cent. And its perfect for a fall read, espically for the holidays. If one were to read this book and actually imagine themselves in the same predicament as a child and an adult, one would feel the fear and the need to possibly vomit. My inner and past child would have for sure been in tears calling out for my parents. The story as you can read in the what's it about section before purchasing, is very original and grim. It os so mysterious and terrifying. The art is very retro with a past generation vibe which is a very rare and nice touch, its aged well and such a page turner. At times I felt like I was rushing to find out what was next that I forgot to breathe. There are some shocking moments for example...MINOR MINOR SPOILER, using a child in such an inappropriate violent manner for the sake of sanity...I fear for the children and the sanity of the adults who care for them...based on the sneak peak of the next volume...I think no one is safe, its scary what each individual would do for survival...even if it means sacrificing children D:
