The main character Donovan has had a lot of hard times and as a result he has given up on the notion of Christmas. This story is a new or should I say new take on the old past present and future ghosts. You know the story of then the ghosts of the main guys past takes him through the different ways his life can play out so that the main character will right the wrongs. Many times that story has bothered me, but this story was OK and it was nicely written. Although it was hard to get into at the beginning it was worth the time it took to read it. It wasn't exactly a great read but it was interesting.

Really enjoyed this Christmas novella and its take on A Christmas Carol. If you go along with the fantasy you will really like it. Donovan Ellis has a heavy, saddened heart and Christmas time is most depressing for him. The Duke lost his true love years ago and he just wants to be left in his misery. Enter The Duke of Christmas Past. Donovan himself from all those years ago. The exchanges between Donovan and the past Duke are very humorous at times. Unique also was that the story is told through Donovan's eyes as the years are relived. I shall read this novella every year, just like I watch A Christmas Carol every year and greatly enjoy it. You will too!

Clever take-off on Charles Dickens, and the man himself gets a cameo mention. This is a fun paranormal time-travel twist on the traditional Regency (say that three times fast), and the Regency plotline is sufficiently traditional that the paranormal bits don't bother this historian. Love it!

LOVED LOVED LOVED! I can't say enough about this book. The author weaves a heartwrenching, heartwarming story of lost love and second chances. And the time-travel was an amazing addition. My only complaint would be that the book was too short. I wanted to keep reading!

This is a sweet Regency with a new and unusual paranormal element that I've never found in another story of any kind. I won't spoil what it is, but it did cause me a bit of confusion with point of view a few times, as some portions of the text weren't as seamless in identifying who was providing the dialogue and action right away. I did have to re-read some passages twice, but I did enjoy the story.
