It's not easy being evil.
In Cassius Doyle's case it involves entirely too much patience. Two hundred and fifty years worth, roughly. He and his surly and feathery companion: Benedict Wormwood, have been waiting that long for an opportunity to invade the Naywist; a pristine, parallel world that Cassius was barred from so long ago.
When the entrance to Naywist is compromised, Cassius will say and do anything to get his loathsome carcass across the threshold, even if it is in the middle of the Durward Estate. It's a tricky business, because Cassius can't set a toe on Durward land, not normally.
Our story begins at a time of hope, for evil. Cassius's hope. But, it's going to take every last trick in his arsenal to get past the barriers, the locked door, and the guardians. Don't get him started on that furry little beast, Ajax. Disgusting creatures, ferrets.
