Meet the Author


     Liana Werner-Gray is an advocate for natural healing using a healthy diet and lifestyle. After healing herself of many health conditions through embracing a natural lifestyle, she began lecturing and teaching about the Earth Diet internationally. Liana teaches raw food and cooking classes around the world and has fed many people good-tasting, healthy foods and drinks.
     Liana is the founder and owner of The Earth Diet, where she directs a team that helps people all over the world find recipes that work for them. Through her company, she has helped thousands of people improve, and in some cases even entirely heal, conditions such as acne, addictions, cancer, diabetes, depression, heart disease, obesity, and more. 
     Liana was born and raised in Australia. In her final year of schooling at Charles Darwin University, she received the school’s award for the arts, the Liana Nappi Award. She was named Miss Earth Australia in 2009 by People’s Choice, the third-largest beauty pageant in the world. During the same competition, she was also awarded Best in Environmental Speech, Green Achievers, and the Innovators award.
     Liana has starred in films that received international praise and awards. She continues to work in the entertainment business, as well as promoting a healthy lifestyle. Her intention is to live her life the best she can, and hopefully to inspire others to live the lives of their dreams through a healthy lifestyle. She currently lives in New York City.

Liana’s new book just arrived on Saturday. Started reading it on Sunday and just couldn’t put it down. Chock full of life-saving and down to earth information - I had a hard time going to sleep last night knowing how many lives will be changed and transformed applying this knowledge and getting proactive and healthy. The bond between mother and daughter’s health challenges and the change in direction of a purpose filled life along with the common sense approach to healing and the delightful tidbits and mouth-watering recipes are for anyone interested in taking control of and transforming their lives on a daily basis. It’s an easy read and quick to apply regimen with bountiful and real food choices. Personally I’ve referenced DIET to mean “Dive In Experience Triumph”. Thank you Liana and Namaste’. I have been following TED on Facebook for over a year now and was super excited for the book to come out, I am happy to say Liana (as always) did not disappoint!  The book, its message, recipes, and even the photo's were everything I was hoping for and more!  I just wish I could be one of those speed-readers and assimilate all the knowledge, advice and recipes in a nano-second!  I have already been adopting some of the strategies, and made some of the recipes and everything is amazing! As the result of a car accident in 2008,  I have been battling  fibromyalgia, anemia, and all the symptoms of the above along with inflammation, neuropathic pain, weight gain, and the mental game all of this plays on oneself for too long now.  As I turn each page, I am turning a page towards further improving my health and life!  This is not a "Diet" but advice on how to improve your life- mind, body and soul!

What a great book! I immediately fell in love with the author's enthusiasm and genuine desire to give people encouragement to get healthy, in small ways, or in large ways. This book is PACKED with ideas for increasing the number of healthy habits I can include in my life and still sustain them. GREAT book to introduce people to the idea of Earth-compatible lifestyle and healthy alternatives to conventional profit-driven choices. Welcome to the Light Side! I LOVE this book!

This cookbook is simply AMAZING!! I absolutely LOVE it!! I have truly never found a another cookbook that has so much information contained within! I would normally have to go to more than one book for this much information on food, nutrition, healthy living, healthy thinking and more!! A MUST HAVE FOR ANY KITCHEN AND HOME!!! I will be gifting these to family and friends this holiday season!! Holidays and Birthdays covered!! Thank You!!!

I had already embarked on a clean, whole food and mostly raw way of eating. I must admit that I ordered this book mainly because I wanted recipe ideas in a paper and ink published format to easily reference. This book is that and a whole lot more packed with nutritional facts and guidelines. It has certainly boosted my enthusiasm for incorporating healthy clean eating into my food prep and intake. As I am always looking for ways to improve my health, I find this book very refreshing in it's simplicity.  I love the lists of Do's and Don'ts that are easy to follow.  The author's story is one that I can relate to, because in an effort to heal myself of migraine headaches I had already moved towards a[;ant-based diet.  I went from having migraines 2-3 times a month to not having a single headache in the nearly 3 years since I adopted this lifestyle.  While this book was not out then (when I changed my lifestyle), I feel like it is the missing piece of the puzzle.  It's more about incorporating what the Earth naturally provides for us and less of eliminating, restrictive diet stuff.  It's truly freeing to live like this and the author gives us an excellent guide to follow to keep improving our health everyday.  There's something for everyone, at every stage of health and wellness.  I'm so thankful I discovered this gem of a book! I plan to give it to all my family members this holiday!

Ok this book is like everything else...no new information or recipes. It might be a good book for kids in school, but not for anyone who enjoys being in the kitchen. Also...not too sure about all the medical claims she makes in the book. After being very disappointed with the book, I did some research on Liana and she was never Miss Earth Australia, she won the Peoples Choice award in the MIss earth Australia pageant...I found that misleading and a little unethical. buyer beware...also the pages are already ripping out of mine after reading a few times...
