The Emerald Isle: I'm Home at Last

The Emerald Isle: I'm Home at Last

by Barbara Tatum

Elizabeth is the main character and after a disastrous marriage to an abusive, alcoholic husband that eventually dies in a car crash while he was intoxicated, she takes a trip to Ireland with an older gentleman that had befriended her in the restaurant she worked at. He considered her to be the daughter he never had. Elizabeth meets a wonderful Irishman, named Hugh. It's almost love at first sight.

The Emerald Isle: I'm Home at Last tells the story of how they met and the progression of their love. It also describes the beautiful country of Ireland and the very friendly, courteous people of Ireland.

I started writing about seven years ago, after I retired. I needed something to occupy my time and mind. I found that I enjoy writing about Ireland. I have visited Ireland three times and it does feel like home.

This book is reminiscent of the public TV-channel artist in the pace and calming narrative of a woman's life.   A lovely read at the end of  the day that was hard to put down.  It was nice to see that by page 27 life was very good.  The description of the food and country were  so convincing that I had to visit an Irish Pub when I had completed reading the book!  Well done!
