Auren, a shaman, awakens to visions of death and destruction of his woman and son. A vile creature takes over his brother to destroy his family. Seeking to stop his vision from manifesting as reality, Auren plans to perform a sacred ceremony becoming the Guardian of Light for his people. His death is the price.
Rushing through the forest to gather the ingredients for the ceremony, the wolves warn him of his failure. In panic Auren returns to his encampment to find his vision has sprung to life. A Devian has taken his brother's body, turning him into a creature of death and destruction. Screaming in rage, Auren turns on the creature. Just as he begins to unleash his rage the creature flees into the future.
Auren must sacrifice himself in the ceremony to the God of Light, The Eternal, to become his servant. In so doing he can still have his vengeance on these vile creatures from the lower dimensions.
Auren finds that he is partnered with the God of Light with powers of a God himself. He rushes to the future to track down Glaxus, King of the Devians and send him back where he came from.
