What People are Saying About This

From the Publisher

“This volume offers a persuasive and innovative way of thinking regional spaces which have become the focus of current debates in international relations. It is a welcome and timely contribution to understanding how fluid regional orders interact, overlap and sometimes collide. ” (Laure Delcour, Maison des Sciences de l’Homme, France)

“Various regional powers – the EU being just one of them – are struggling for influence in Europe, its neighbours and the neighbours of its neighbours. This diverse and dynamic space has to cope with complex patterns of cooperation, competition and conflict. Thinking of it as Trans-Europe, as this highly recommended volume suggests, helps to better understand the many interconnected challenges that are reshaping the regions around the EU. ” (Sieglinde Gstöhl, Director of Studies, College of Europe, Belgium)

“Giusti and Mirkina provide a welcome and long-overdue breath of fresh air to academic and policy debates alike: a must read for all those wishing to unpack the conceptual and empirical strands lying behind our eccentric Trans-European space.”(Nathalie Tocci, Director of the Istituto Affari Internazionali, Italy, Special Adviser to EU HRVP Federica Mogherini, Honorary Professor at the University of Tübingen, Germany)
