This is the fourth book in the Mill Creek Crossing series by Angelina Rose, but it was the first book I read by the author.  Honestly, I didn't feel that I was missing anything at all by not reading the other books.  I don't even know if they are full length novels or novellas, like this one.  I can tell you that I would read this author again. The story starts with Sally Overton sitting at her desk in her Atlanta office, staring out the window contemplating her job as an attorney and how different is actually is than what she dreamed it would be as a young girl.  Her best friend Taryn comes in to pass along some information concerning a case and through the conversation with her and some minor backstory we find out that she has been widowed for four years and has a seven year old son who is spending the summer with his paternal grandparents. As she is wrapping up her work to head home, Sally gets an email reminding her about her 15 year high school reunion in Mill Creek Crossing.  Sally had a bad time in high school, but her one bright memory is of Colin Dean, the boy who's smile was almost literally her salvation.  She decides to go, grabbing the opportunity to see him again. Back in Mill Creek Crossing, Colin Dean is standing in his new home, fresh divorce papers in hand, trying to figure out where exactly it all went wrong between him and his wife of 10 years. Not only did he lose his wife, but his best friend when he caught them in bed together.  When he gets the email notification of the impending reunion, he knows that he has to go, otherwise his ex-wife and former best friend will feel like they have won.  Now he just has to find a date, so no one feels sorry for him going alone. When all is said and done, this is the story about two people re-discovering each other and letting go of the past.  Trust issues and self confidence play a large part in the story.  The courtship is whirlwind, but the foundation was there, just waiting for the right time.  I thought this was a cute, quick read.  At around 70 pages on my reader, it didn't take long to finish.  One of the problems that can sometimes occur with a novella is that the story feels rushed or that pieces are missing.  I didn't find this to be the case for this story. It was a complete, if short story and was an enjoyable 3 stars on Goodreads.

4 STARS This is a short love story. I cheered for Sally. Loved Colin. Admired Camelia who apologized for her behavior 15 years ago in high school. Booed Stephanie and Jazz. This was a good story about a girl Sally who was bullied by most of her new high school led by Stephanie. Sally went on to become a lawyer and beautiful inside and out. Sally's fifteen year reunion is coming out. She decides to go back and show off and get a look at Colin. Colin was her one bright spot in high school. He was nice to her. Colin divorce from Stephanie is final. He wants to take a date to their reunion. When he meets Sally he does not recognize her but asks her out for coffee. This is story is well told even though it is short it gets everything it's need to across. I would love to go back and read the rest of her series about Mill Creek. I was given this ebook to read as part of the blog tour. I was asked in return to give honest review of it. Publisher: BookBaby; 1 edition (April 26, 2013) 70 pages ASIN: B00CRM1Q4I

The Eyes Of Love is a heartwarming romantic novella about one woman's redemption and second chance at finding love. Sally Overby did not have an easy time in high school, viewed as a plain jane and a nerd, she was viciously bullied by Stephanie Dixon, the homecoming queen. But once she left high school behind for college, Sally transformed herself into an attractive woman who became a successful Atlanta attorney, got married and had a son. But her happy life was turned upside down when her husband passed away five years ago in an accident, leaving her a widow and single mother. When the invitation to her fifteenth high school reunion came in the mail, she wasn't going to attend until she saw that Colin Dean, the most popular guy in school and her secret crush was going, she decides to return to her hometown and maybe get a second chance at love. Author Angelina Rose weaves a wonderful tale that pulls at the heartstrings. You can't help but feel for Sally when she was bullied in high school, and smile at her redemption when she goes back to her hometown and puts her tormentors in their place as an attractive and successful woman who wins the heart of the most popular guy in school. This lighthearted story has a engaging cast of characters, witty dialogue and interactions with laugh-out-loud moments, a sweet romance that is not overly done, and a thoughtful moral message about bullying that will resonate with you for a long time. The Eyes Of Love is an enjoyable little romantic novella that can be read in one sitting. It is a wonderful story that will give you a warm and fuzzy feeling and put a smile on your face.
