Wonderful Story! I didn't think this would measure up to The Loyal Heart, but it does. I loved this story of Jack and Madeline, there is so much love, suspense, sadness and action to enjoy. You will use most of your emotions in this story. I am only rating the story, not the proofreading because it is so rich that you will not want to stop reading and go onto the next book. Even though there is an Epilogue, you will still need to read the next book because you will want to know more of the other character's. As far as the lovemaking in the story, I felt it was appropriate, not vulgar as some Romance Writer's make it, and only a small portion of the book, mild rating. I feel you need to read these stories in order, to fully appreciate the relationships and trials of all the main and secondary character's. (ljb)

I have to wonder if the proofreader cheated Merry Farmer. There are too many inconsistencies and maybe that is what spoiled the "adventure" for me.

I like this book, except for the discrepancy in the name of a character's dead wife- it changes from Constance in the first part of the book, to Charlotte near the end, and then back to Constance.
