The Feria is a beautifully crafted love story that will hold your attention from beginning to end. Julia Bade worked her magic as she weaved her story around the intricacies of a Mexican family and their culture. Her characters come alive; especially Soledad who dealt with her father’s betrayal with grace, strength, and a maturity beyond her years and selflessly set aside her dreams for the love of her family. Julia’s gift for words brings the story to life and pulled me in from the very first paragraph. I could not put it down until I reached the end. This is truly an eloquent story told by a very talented writer. This is a must read for anyone who loves romance set in a time when life was simpler, and respect was a highly treasured value.
