Robert Beckom came to Christ the same as many have. After experiencing man’s inhumanity to man firsthand in the jungles of Vietnam, he came home in search of answers for his life.
Reverend Robert Beckom was born and raised in the red clay foothills of North Carolina. After serving in the military, he married the former Georgia Ann Leonard and together they still live there with their three children and numerous grandchildren.
As well as ministering for many years, he has also written many songs with the theme of faith. In 1988 and 1989, he received Songwriter of the Year Award in North Carolina and in 2004 in collaboration with his brother. David Beckom, he cowrote Gospel Song of the Year and Patriotic Song of the Year for this state of Maine.
He attended Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville, Florida, and has for many years, pastored Faith Baptist Tabernacle in Linwood, North Carolina. He has also traveled many miles preaching the those that would listen. He also serves on the board of directors for Alpha Pregnancy Support Inc.
