Overview

What’s a Cinderella to do when she’s accidentally kicked her Prince Charming in the face and broken his nose? Hold an audition, of course.

Harper Bailey is desperate to keep her family’s amusement park business up and running, but her employees keep quitting, and the man playing prince to her Cinderella in the company’s mainstage show is just the latest casualty. When sexy firefighter Rafferty Bradford, the most eligible bachelor in their small town, offers to step in, Harper agrees--reluctantly. After all, she and Rafferty are ex-best friends with a ton of past history. Surely they’ll have zero chemistry onstage.

Rafferty has his own reasons for agreeing to play Prince Charming, and none of them are good. If Harper finds out the truth, it’ll just reinforce every rumor she’s believed over the years about Rafferty’s bad rep. But when their chemistry explodes both onstage and off, he’ll have to choose between happily-ever-after for himself...or the Cinderella he’s fallen for.

About the Author

From the time she was a child, Sonya knew she was destined to be a writer. If she didn’t like the ending of a book or movie, she would write her own ending. When her children were young, she often wrote stories to entertain them. At the urging of one of her daughters, she submitted a short story and to her surprise and delight, it sold. Sonya loves writing all things romance whether it’s writing contemporary adult or teen fiction and still hasn’t lost the wonder that she gets to do what she loves. She enjoys reading, movies, chocolate, and laughter and credits her daughters as being the sweetest blessings in her life.

Rafferty (love the name, very mischevious and exciting) is such a fun, flirty, intense kinda guy. I loved him in this story as he interacts with Harper. Their banter will put a smile on your face. She is easily riled by him, but still keeps him in check as far as their blown friendship goes. Harper endured a lot of confusion and hurt when their friendship broke up. And her confession to him tugged on my heart. I understand his feelings, but was so glad for the lightbulb moment and he came to his senses. The ending was beautiful and every girl's fairy tale come true. I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley.

This was a rather silly book. Put together a hero and heroine who have both been burned by love and are reluctant to admit to the attraction that they have for each other. Add in a whole town full of people who are matchmaking to throw them together, including a wise-cracking, matchmaking granny. Then imagine a setting of a small town in Georgia which supports not one, but two amusement parks and you have the ingredients for a thoroughly unbelievable plot. I just didn’t buy one word of it and I couldn’t feel that much for either character. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

Harper Bailey needs someone to play Prince Charming in the play that will help her family business, and Rafferty Bradford volunteers himself for the role. The two have a past together but now will have to find a way to work together in good terms to give a good performance. Cute romance.

The Firefighters Cinderella by Sonya Weiss a four-star read that will set you aflame. This is my first novel from this author, but I will be looking for more as overall, it’s been a good story, the characters were well written, and you could get behind them feel Harpers desperation and need to succeed. This story will have you wanting everyone to get their happily ever afters and I must admit that the Bradford family won my heart. I would definitely be wanting to hear more from them. I gave this four-stars as it was cute and sweet, but I felt that it was missing just that little something. But overall I enjoyed it so I will be looking for more from this author.

It was an ok read for me. Quick sweet romance and if that is what you are looking for then this for you. Rafferty and Harper have been friends since they were kids but something happened to cause them to stop. Years later, she needs a Prince Charming and Rafferty stepped up. Between this and a matchmaking town, they realize that they are made for each other. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Loved this book! It's a sweet take on the classic Cinderella story with a contemporary twist. Harper is the overworked Cinderella, while who is her Prince Charming is up for debate. I thought the characters were likeable and the story engaging. Rafferty is a nice guy (and player) with more depth than Harper thought he had. He has a max of three dates rule, but when he's thrown together with Harper his world turned upside-down. Harper doesn't trust a man to stay, as, starting with her father, they all leave her. When they're together, the sparks fly and neither knows how to handle it. If you enjoy sweet (and clean) contemporary romance, you will love this book. The author is on my must read authors' list.

It is a really fun read. I enjoyed reading the story and both main characters are amazing. Harper is looking for a happily ever after and refuses to settle for anything less. Rafferty doesn't want to give up his freedom which he thinks will happen if he ever settles down. So, it's obvious that they are not suited for each other. Yet, people in their lives keep telling them that they should date and fall in love. Not that it matters. But then Rafferty decides to play Prince Charming and help out Harper. Now, he is spending more time with her and both are renewing their friendship. As they get to know each other once again they realize that there is still a spark between them. It doesn't change what they both want from life but it might be worth it to take a leap of faith and see what happens. Now, the question is are they brave enough or not? It's a well-written story and I loved it. It's romantic and funny. I think that it's a must-read for all romance lovers.
