The Forsaken

Ruth, the youngest of eight children, was raised in Orem, Utah. She graduated from Orem High School in 2001. From 2002 - 2004 Ruth studied Animation and Media Arts at The Art Institute of Phoenix. When she returned home from school, she met her Mr. Perfect and married him in 2006. She now lives in Springville, Utah with her husband and their three sons: five-year-old Ethan, three-year-old Dylan, and their baby Colin.

Her hobbies include: writing (novels, screenplays, poetry, and songs). She also enjoys drawing, painting, sculpting, reading, eating, interior design/home improvement, swing dancing, compulsive shopping, watching and quoting movies, and just hanging out with her family.

Ruth is a born storyteller. Even as a young child she wrote stories whenever she could, making up wild tales in her head that seemed far more real than reality itself. As she got older, many of her friends and family complimented her on her gift. However, it was her tenth grade English Teacher, Mr. Garlan Fitzgerald, who encouraged her to become a professional writer. That's when she began to believe that telling stories could be more than just a hobby.

Over the years her imagination soared, weaving tales from Historical Fiction based in the Regency Era to Fantasy. From her never-ending well of ideas she has begun dozens of novels. Her most recent concept "The Children of Cain" series has inspired her not only to finally finish a novel but to aggressively pursue a career as a published author. And now, three years later, Ruth has made her dream come true. As of May 1st, 2013 her debut novel, "The Forsaken", is available in print. Finally, Ruth's characters have their chance to leave the corners of her imagination and live out their lives through the magic of the printed word.

Ruth is dedicating her novel, "The Forsaken", to her English Teacher, Mr. Fitzgerald, as well as her husband, Jonny Craddock. Her teacher for being the first to truly believe in her gift and her husband for pushing her to strive for greatness in all that she does. Without him she would not be where she is today.

I really enjoyed The Forsaken. It definitely falls under the dark fantasy genre with some hard things occurring to certain characters in the book. The author gives plenty of details, so you feel like you really know the characters. Gwen grows a lot of this book and very quickly learns about the good and evil in the world. I'm looking forward to see what ends up happening to her in the future books. I'd recommend this book to those that want a fantasy read.

When I first started reading The Foresaken, I read over 50 pages the first night. It didn't help put me to sleep as I hoped. I have almost read it through a 2nd time.
The author wrote this as fiction but the story line seems real at times. Real people have experienced or can relate to it in so many ways (other than coming out of human form). Since it was so well written, I could visualize the story line and each of the characters as if it were a movie. I look forward to reading the next book

I just finished this last night. A GOOD read - some deep things in it, BUT hey life isn't always warm and fuzzy. Good character development, you really feel - good or bad - what the characters are going through due to the writing skill of Craddock. It was a page turner and I cannot wait for the second book! It will be a six-book series, SO if you're looking for a new series to get into then check this book out and get it asap.

I just finished reading this book and found it quite intriguing. I was swept into the mystery of the story within the first few pages as I read quickly to find the answers to the fate of the main character. I developed a protective feeling for her and was anxious when she was in peril. I enjoyed the author's descriptive ability to paint a picture with her words.
