This is a sweet Christmas romance helped along with a little manipulation by Lucien de Monteforte, the Duke of Blackheath. His friend Sir Roger Foxcote refuses to celebrate Christmas following a family tragedy. Lucien's cousin Angela is a widow of meager means. However, she just happens to look exactly like the woman in a portrait that Sir Roger is obsessed with. The subject of the painting is Angela's many times great-grandmother and is long dead. But Sir Roger seems fixated on the portrait. Lucien invites both Angela and Roger for the Christmas season, hoping to work a little matchmaking magic. After a rocky first meeting, the chances for success don't look good. But perhaps with the spirit of Christmas and Lucien de Monteforte working behind the scenes, romance might have a chance. I listened to the audio version. If you get a chance, check it out. The narrator is excellent.
