The Friendship Pact by Tara Taylor Quinn

This is a story for every woman who has a best friend…

Bailey Watters and Koralynn Mitchell consider themselves "sisters of the soul." Their circumstances growing up couldn't have been more different; Kora came from a wealthy, privileged family, while Bailey's home life was hard. They'd do anything for each other. "I'd give you a kidney," they always say. There are no secrets between them—until there's one secret Bailey can't share.

This is a story for every woman who's been in love.

Danny Brown is the only man Kora's ever wanted, ever loved, and her marriage seems as flawless as everything else in her life. Bailey, however, doesn't want a husband. She does want a baby—but only by IVF. And the perfect donor, the perfect biological father, would be a man like…Danny.

What happens when love and friendship collide?

Kora might be willing to give Bailey a kidney. But what about a baby?

WOW!! What an emotional connection to the characters T.T. Quinn creates in this book. Not your typical love story usually written by this author, The Friendship Pact is So Much More! A story of two best friends and their long journey together with the struggles of life. Again not a typical love story, but it still contains "Heat". I wasn't sure about the story in the beginning, but I found out rather quickly that  it is one of Tara Taylor Quinn's best works with plenty of surprises along the way. I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

It's been quite some time since I last read one of Tara Taylor Quinn's books, but I hadn't forgotten how much I loved those stories. This is another example of her excellent story telling skills. A very touching and emotional story with many surprises. I couldn't put it down!

Koralynn and Bailey were childhood best friends. As they grew life changed and with those changes came changes in their relationship. Koralynn got married and Bailey became a mother. They faced many challenges and hardships. They had to decide if the pact they made as childhood friends was childish or was it a lifelong oath. “The Friendship Pact” was a phenomenal read. It was intense and riveting. I was sucked into the emotional highs and lows of the characters. I felt their joy and I felt their pain. I couldn’t put it down. Grab a cup of tea or a glass of wine, curl up on your couch, and go for a vacation into the lives of Koralynn and Bailey. Enjoy This book was free to me as an ebook.

I received this book free as an ebook.  “The Friendship Pact” defines the true meaning of an enduring friendship that began in elementary school.  Their backgrounds were different. Koralynn had a caring family with financial means and Bailey’s home life was very difficult.   Yet the girls were “sisters of the soul” and their friendship remained steadfast and strong through college.  Koralyn married her high school sweetheart, Danny, while Bailey determinedly wanted nothing to do with marriage after her Mother’s many divorces and suicide. She made  a good life for herself as a divorce lawyer, which convinced her even more that marriage was not for her. Jake, Danny’s best friend, tried to  convince her otherwise and asked her several times, but Bailey kept saying no.   Koralyn and Danny were so happy and wanted a baby.   Bailey began thinking she wanted a family, too, but not in the traditional way.  She opted for IVF and Koralyn didn’t exactly like the idea of an unwed mother, yet, she supported her best friend.  Both women ended up being pregnant at the same time; Koralyn was sick a lot and Bailey was glowing with life.  What happens next is frightening, frustrating and heartbreaking for both women.  Will this friendship endure?  How do babies play such a huge role in what happens between all four friends?  This book is hard to set aside, right down to the very last page. Ms. Quinn gives us a glimpse into the lives of two loving and caring women and the men in their lives.  At some points the story has a twist  that makes us think it may go in an entirely different direction. Yet, she brings us back in without missing a step and keeps us glued to the pages until the very end.  Tara Taylor Quinn always has characters that are very believable. They could be your next door neighbors and this book delivers them very well.  I highly recommend “The Friendship Pact” to all readers who know or want to know the depths of true friendship.

When Koralynn Mitchell defended Bailey Watters in grade school little did they know that it would be the beginning of something big. It didn't matter that they were total opposites, that Kora came from a loving stable home and that Bailey’s was anything but. It didn't matter that Kora was the optimist and Bailey’s glass was only half full, or that Kora knew her high school sweetheart was her one and only true love and that Bailey’s abusive childhood wouldn't let her believe in fairytales. They were sisters of the heart, they could finish each other’s sentences, and they made a pact, they promised they would always be there for each other, that they would “give each other a kidney” if they needed it. But when it’s time for the organ to be cut out that’s where the real tests are proven. When secrets cause hurt and covert actions feel like betrayals is when the “pact” is hard to live by. Koralynn and Bailey will have their friendship tested, their loyalties questioned. Will their Friendship Pact survive or fall under the battles to come? Tara Taylor Quinn’s latest release is a mix of women’s fiction, romance and suspense, a haunting, heartbreaking page-turner and a one sitting non-stop angst filled read. Starring two incredibly strong, caring and genuine women with a fine cast of co-stars that will fill in blanks and add depth and meaning. Her narrative flows with edge of your seat intensity, honesty that’s often brutal, and loyalty that’s pure. Its a prime example of literature imitating life because its based on and dedicated to the author’s own special BFF. Her story within a story is complex and rife with life-changing obstacles, tragedies and triumphs. And as I neared the end all I wanted was more. Tara you have taken me on some incredible journeys before but none can compare to the passion of this one. I can’t wait to see where you take me next.
