This was a well-written, entertaining book. In Medieval Scotland, Catriona has experienced a night of violence which has left her homeless, expecting a child and with no trust in men. Malcolm has returned to his inherited holding, intending to restore it. His companion is trapped by the Fae and they demand his soul in sacrifice. Malcolm agrees to give up his instead, to be claimed Midsummer's Eve. Malcolm wants to ensure his holding is rebuilt and left to someone who will take care of it. Catriona and Malcolm meet, and soon each begins to believe they may be able to trust each other and fight through the obstacles ahead of them. This book can be read as a standalone story, though is the third in a series with related characters. I loved this book! Copy gifted by the Publisher in exchange for an honest review.

The Frost Maiden's Kiss is book three in the True Love Brides series. It is the story of the second son Malcolm who goes off to seek his fortune. Malcolm has returned home, after eight years, with treasure and coins a plenty to rebuild his inheritance Ravensmuir. He returns with a companion, Rafael, who immediately falls victim to the dastardly deeds of the Fairy. How to deal with the next scheduled encounter is a constant worry for Malcolm. The heroine is Catriona who through no fault of her own has been sorely misused and mistreated. She is running for her life when she crosses paths with Malcolm. I like there two. Both wounded, not trusting souls who have seen too much bad in the world and find it hard to trust. They are good for each other and grow individually as well as together into a couple at peace with themselves and each other. There is an interesting group of supporting characters in the guise of Malcolm's mercenary buddies. A rough and tumble group waiting to be tamed and Catriona and Ravensmuir are up to the task. This is the third book of a series but the sixth book of the Lammergier siblings. The first three siblings stories are told in the Jewels of Kinfairlie trilogy. I would suggest reading them in order to give yourself the complete back story, even though each is a stand alone book. Reading them in order will help you appreciate the closeness of the sibling group. Copy gifted by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Loved Malcolm's story! It was quite unexpected... or perhaps just not what I was expecting. Catriona was a breath of fresh air. Her story was intriguing, though the twist at the end was unexpected, it left the door open for additional characters to stroll through. This entire series has been most enjoyable! I would easily recommend it and tell you the audio is as amazing as the others! Saskia Maarleveld has such a gift that you forget you aren't there. Both the books by Claire Delacroix and the audio books are SO worth your time and the small costs. I'd suggest you read the books, or listen to the audio books in order though, but that is just my preference for the sake of continuity. Enjoy your read!

As soon as I started this book I fell in love with Malcolm. After seeing him as a young man in the Jewels of Kinfairlie series it was fantastic to see him as a grown man in his own book. After the death of his uncle Tynan and the collapse of Ravensmuir, Malcolm heads out into the world to find his own way and hopefully return with a fortune to reclaim his legacy. After years selling his sword as a mercenary, he finally returns home ready to rebuild Ravensmuir. Unfortunately, upon the night of his return, the Fae living below the ruins wreak havoc upon Malcolm and his companion. To repay a debt and spare his friend, Malcolm makes a deal with the Fae. Thinking his soul to be lost, he is preparing for his final months in Ravensmuir when a young woman arrives and changes everything. I love the relationship that develops between Catriona and Malcolm. Watching them find strength in each other and fight against all odds is so touching and written in a way that brings tears to your eyes. This is truly a wonderful story with such a touching ending. ***Copy gifted by the Publisher in exchange for an honest review***

This is a great story. I loved the that the two characters, Malcolm and Catriona, were able to learn about each other and from each other under difficult situations. The supporting characters were wonderful and provided the needed conflict and help to for these two characters to grow. The story was well told and easy to follow. I recommend this book as well as the others in the series. Copy gifted by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this series. Couldn't wait to get to the next book. This one is about Malcolm who inherits Ravensmuir but it is in ruins so he becomes a mercenary selling his sword to make the money needed to rebuilt his keep. He sells his soul to the fae to repay a debt to a friend and is running out of time to leave a legacy behind. In walks all his answers beyond his wildest dreams but will he be able to achieve all before the deadline? A great story of how love conquers all!

4.25 stars--THE FROST MAIDEN’S KISS is the third instalment in Claire Delacroix’s (aka Deborah Cooke) medieval True Love Brides paranormal romance series. True Love Brides is a spinoff series from Claire’s Jewels of Kinfairlie series.  This is Laird Malcolm of Ravensmuir and Catriona’s story. Although this is the third in the series, it can be read as a stand alone without too much difficulty. As Malcolm returns home following eight years as a hired mercenary, the last thing he expects is to fall in love. He is a man who has destroyed many lives and believes his end is near.  But a man needs a wife and an heir, and Catriona is the perfect woman to meet all of his demands. Malcolm owes a debt that must be paid on Mid-Summer’s Eve-a bargain with the Fae, promised with his life-and his new wife must uncover the truth behind the debt that is owed. There is an immediate attraction between Malcolm and Catriona-one that is tempered by Catriona’s health and recent pregnancy. The romance develops through friendship, respect and their growing love for one another but Catriona’s past seeks revenge along with another band of mercenary’s set on taking the Ravensmuir Keep. The secondary characters including Malcolm’s extended family and friends are colorful and add some mystery and suspense to the story.  The paranormal aspect of the Fae is almost an afterthought to the main story but the Fae are always in the background wreaking havoc, causing mischief with a portent of things to come. A portion of the storyline is told through song and folk lore-a history of tales about the Fae that are a foreshadow of what is to come. THE FROST MAIDEN’S KISS is a spirited and intimate tale of life, love and loss in the 1400’s;  where two people will find their soul mate at a time when both will face a new direction in their lives.  Claire Delacroix pulls the reader into a story of romance between a warrior and his maiden; a compelling and captivating tale with a happily ever after.
