About the Author

Dr Mike Teng is the author of a best-selling book "Corporate Turnaround: Nursing a sick company back to health", in 2002 which is also translated into the Bahasa Indonesia. In 2006, he authored another book entitled, "Corporate Wellness: 101 Principles in Turnaround and Transformation. He also published in 2007/2008 six management books, namely entitled: Internet Turnaround: The Use of Internet Marketing to Turnaround Companies; Training Manual: Corporate Turnaround and Transformation Methodology; Link Baiting to Improve Your Page Ranking on Search Engines and Corporate Turnaround: Global Perspective as well as Fundamentals of Buying and Selling of Companies and What we can Learn from the Animals on Office Politics.
Dr Teng is currently the Managing Director of Corporate Turnaround Centre Pte Ltd which provides corporate training and management advisory services. He has 28 years of experience in corporate turnaround, strategic planning and operational management responsibilities in the Asia Pacific. Of these, he held Chief Executive Officer's positions for 18 years in multi-national and publicly listed companies.
Dr Teng served as the Executive Council member for fourteen years and the last four years as the President of the Marketing Institute of Singapore (2000 - 2004), the national marketing association. Dr Teng holds a Doctor in Business Administration (DBA) from the University of South Australia, Master in Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering (BEng) from the National University of Singapore. He is also a Professional Engineer (P Eng, Singapore), Chartered Engineer ( C Eng, UK) and Fellow Member of several prestigious professional institutes namely, Chartered Institute of Marketing (FCIM), Chartered Management Institute (FCMI), Institute of Mechanical Engineers (FIMechE), Marketing Institute of Singapore (FMIS), Institute of Electrical Engineers (FIEE) and Senior Member of Singapore Computer Society (SMSCS).

Buy cheap and sell high is the name of the game!  I learned from this book a great deal of how to buy cheap and sell high. This is a principle that we use to buy stocks and shares. Now we can literally apply them for better returns on our investments. It all goes back to understanding the workings for the companies. This book is a great one to teach us those lessons/

Another great merger and acquisition book This is another excellent book on merger and acquisition. It goes back to basic principles and common sense. Sometimes common sense is not so common and companies wasted millions of dollars of merger and acquisition and found they did not work. Just read this book to bring you down to earth on the harsh realities of buying and selling companies

 Good merger and acquisition book to read! I've been reading and reviewing lots of merger and acquisition books recently. Most of them make the subject very difficult to understand or follow. I like this book because it's like reading the ABC's of mergers and aquisitions. It's easy to understand and remember, to me anyways. It's not loaded down with technical jargon, which is great because I'm not really a technical person. If I can understand this book, I think most of you readers will be able to as well.

There needs to be Common sense in merger and acquisition. Yet many companies did not do them well. I would recommend them to read this book to minimize the risks of failures in any corporate mergers. The book sets the foundation for business owners, executives and students desiring to understand what is involved in corporate mergers.

A great book to explain the basics of buying and selling companies. The principles are very sound and applicable. The author makes the book so easy to understand and it is full of wisdom and fine examples. It is insightful and informative. During such turbulent times. merger and acquisition is the way to go and grow. Many companies however do it badly.Therefore, I highly recommend this book for business owners, CEOs and private equity specialists. Business students will also find this book very useful.

The author has highlighted the fundamentals of what is involved in merger and acquisition. It needs not be a complicated or risky venture if you can follow the gems of wisdom dished out by the book. The book is written in a clear, concise and comphrensive fashion so that the readers can easily follow the steps. This book is highly recommended for students, corporate executives and people who are interested in buying and selling companies.
