There are certainly publications that are intellectually more refined and authoritative than "The Gaborro Reader" could ever hope to be. But I take an author's pride from not making any moral or ethical concessions whatsoever to power, to political correctness, to oppressive tradition, or to the lowest common denominators of popular opinion.
Whatever the final appraisal of "The Gaborro Reader" will be, no one can deny that this collection of articles and essays is truly my own. That is what matters most in a world where independent voices are struggling to be heard above the conformist din of modern existence.
