While all of Courtney's friends get excited about their junior year, Courtney finds herself just pretending. She already knows what the year will bring: more of the same parties that her best friend will drag her to, even less dates than last year (if that was possible), and the same people. Scott was not looking forward to his junior year either. His family had moved to some small town across the country that he had never even heard of. Now he would have to spend his junior year trying to make new friends and fit in. But then Scott walks into the office of his new school and meets Courtney, and things don't seem so bad anymore. And Courtney actually begins to believe things are going to be better this year. Unfortunately, things don't stay that way for long . . .
