It is an excellent book for the beginner rider but it also has great exercises for any rider. This work takes Sally Swift's revolutionary ideas further with great exercises to help riders figure out how their bodies should work on the horse. The ground work exercises look awesome. I am looking foreword to trying them out on my students. It is exciting to find new tools to help my students learn how to do a variety of important basics better, weather they are beginners or more advanced riders. Sally Swift's "Centered Riding" book contains a lot of visual images that help rider's obtain specific skills which is great for visual learners. This book seems to have more exercises that are geared toward kinesthetic learning. "The Gentle Art of Horseback Riding" is a very welcome addition to my horseback riding lesson curriculum. There are a few things that I prefer to teach differently but over all this book is right on. It's an excellent resourse for beginner riders! Debbie Sams

A wonderful book! Thanks librarything for choosing me as a winner of this book for free. Everything you need to know about horseback riding is in here. Nothing was left untouched and the pictures also really help you understand what they are telling you to do when trying all their techniques. If you are interested in starting horseback riding or are already an experienced rider this is still a must own book for anyone who loves horses and has an interest in horseback riding! A+++

Gincy's newest book is a must have for the Equestrian Library!! Great for a beginner with the smallest details covered, all the up to advanced riding, both English and Western style. There is a huge focus on considering the horse first, treating with consideration and kindness, as well as rider/handler safety and confidence. Excellent coverage on tack and equipment. This book, with beautiful color photos, should appeal to everyone, from Natural Horsemanship to Classical riding! Thanks again, Gincy for another great book.
