Bought this as soon as I heard about it. Brian’s CaringBridge entries were so well written and entertaining (can I say that?) that I knew I needed to read the book. When Jenny was first diagnosed I read the book “Brain On Fire” and it gave me a base of knowledge. Reading a book like this about a stranger is interesting, reading it and knowing her gives it a whole other dimension. I’m about half way thru “The Girl on The 6th Floor” and I have felt frustration, sadness, joy and every other emotion I can think of. I’m very glad that I know the ending. I’m lucky enough to work with Jenny and have been able to see her amazing recovery. Brian’s style of writing in very easy to read and his sense of humor comes thru with every chapter. How that family kept their sense of humor is a testament to what family strength is all about. On a personal note, many years ago I had a health issue that required an extended hospital stay and my diagnosis took some time to be discovered. I was lucky, a biopsy and then removal of a lymph node cured me. This book makes me wish I could tell my parents thank you for all they went thru during those weeks. Buy it, read it and give your kids a hug.

This book would be very, very helpful for anyone dealing with a family member with a medical condition. You are not alone, there are others out there who have been through hell and back.
