this novella takes place after James Potter #2 and while it is not necessary for the continuation of the series I recommend it for 2 reasons. First, it does go deeper into the storyline and gets you a closer look at some of the characters. Second, as Mr. Lippert cannot charge for the James Potter books the purchase of this one is a great way to show support for what he is doing and help him to be able to continue his work on the series.

The Girl On The Dock is a short story related to the James Potter series of fan fiction novels. The main storyline is about the adventures and heroics of James, son of Harry. Yes, THAT Harry. Petra is a recently graduated housemate of James. This story tells of her homecoming and secret troubles. I recommend this story, along with the James Potter series, to anyone who was a Harry Potter fan. These are well written, and well thought out. Not to mention that, with the exception of The Girl On The Dock, all the books are free. I look forward to reading other, non-Potter, books by this author.

Am rereading this for a second time and I just love how the author has made this a stand alone book, but also as a continuing of his James Potter books! The descriptions of the characters are wonderful. A very good book. I am just sad that it is so short.
