This is one of the few books I had to have a few days away from before I could review. As soon as I finished it, I wanted to give it two stars at most. Luckily, it was late and I didn't write that review. After thinking about my review, I realised what it was that made me so passionate. This book made me mad, it really got to me. I don't want to spoil anything for those that will be reading this book soon. I was sucked in. The character completely fooled me. So benign. I was expecting something completely different. Something innocent. Something linear and commonplace. I became so engrossed in the story that it touched me emotionally. How could I fault a book for doing what it is supposed to do. Usually I find myself being sucked into a setting more than bonding with a character. This story isn't rich in settings or overly detailing in its time frame. What it does have is some very well formed characters. Very well formed. So much so that I thought I knew how they would react, how they would live out their lives. Ha! Excellent character driven suspenseful tale that will leave your mouth hanging open.
