The Girl's Guide to (Man)Hunting by Jessica Clare

Once, Miranda felt a little exposed…

Miranda Hill’s cocky ex-boyfriend is back in Bluebonnet, Texas. He ditched her—and their little town—just as some rather shocking photos showed up on the Internet. Miranda wasn’t so lucky. Stuck in Bluebonnet and left to fend for herself, she’s never really shaken the scandal—or his betrayal. After nine long years, he’s back…

It’s time she gets even.

Former NHL hotshot Dane Croft has returned home to open a survival training school and reinvent himself. When his high-school girlfriend enrolls in the program, he has no idea that Miranda plans to get him in a compromising position. But to carry out her deviously sexy revenge, Miranda will have to get up-close and personal with Dane all over again. She got nowhere being a good girl; it’s time to be a little naughty. But falling in love with the man who broke her heart was never part of the plan…

My Review: What an incredibly sexy and entertaining book. I really, really enjoyed this one. For the last nine years, Miranda has been known as the Boobs of Bluebonnet. Right after graduation, she spent 7 minutes in a closet with Dane and that seven minutes ruined the rest of her life. Someone took photos and posted them on the internet, ruining her reputation and causing her mother’s nervous breakdown. Finally 9 years later, and Miranda‘s mom is finally stable enough again so that she can have her own life. She’s three weeks away from a new career and move to Houston when Dane rolls back into town. He’s starting an outdoor survival school with two of his best friends and she sees this as her opportunity for revenge before she starts her new life. For Miranda, thoughts of Dane feature anger, revenge, and hurt. But for Dane, he only remembers Miranda as the one who got away. He's spent the last nine years partying his way through the NHL and when that dream suddenly ended he figured out what's really important about life. That epiphany has led him back to Bluebonnet Texas to start a survival school and is shocked when Miranda is part of his first week-long class. He thinks that she's a plant there by his partners to test his will-power. This book is so good. It's Miranda and Dane and 5 other guys out in the wilderness together. Miranda joined the class to get revenge, but she excels in the class...I loved that about her character. She is such a tough girl. Honestly, the last nine years of her life have been incredibly miserable and she's innocent of the judgement this small TX town has levied on her that entire time. I can't imagine standing up to that kind of ridicule day after day. For his part Dane has made some bad choices too, but he also knows way too much about being judged harshly when he didn't do anything wrong. I really loved how into Miranda he is. He truly looks at her as the one who got away and can't resist her when she joins his first class, although he really REALLY tried to resist. Their relationship is built entirely on lies, but I loved these two together when they both forgot all that. They were so naturally perfect together. It definitely helped my enjoyment of this book that I read it while on a campout in TX...perfect for reading a book where the characters are spending 7 days in a wildlife survival school. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I liked the characters and the premise. Everything about it was well-done and extremely HOT. I look forward to reading more of this series!

I liked this story. Not alot of dialogue but, narative kept it interesting. Alot of sex scenes (good ones) but, I would have prefered a more twisted plot. Not bad though, characters were likeable, HEA, and duel POV's. I recommend this book. S.A.K.

I very much enjoyed the story. It had a very nice mixture of emotions and you got to hear each sides thoughts. To hear Miranda's thoughts of what she was up to and listening to Dane's saying "what is she up to?" it just made it a funny, sweet, very hot story. I cannot wait for the next 2 to come out :)

Barnes and Noble should tell you how many Nook pages your buying beforehand. I dislike spending over ten dollars for a book that turns out to be less than 350 pages. Ripped off.

I knew from the title alone, that this was going to be a fun little read! I had not read anything from this author yet, so it was set to be a great little adventure for me, and I must admit, I enjoyed every minute of it! The writing style of this book totally drew me and had me on the edge of my seat the whole way through! The characters had sizzling chemistry and I loved the banter between them! If you like outdoorsy alpha males, and fiesty female characters this book is has all of that and then some! Highly recommend this series!!

Not her best book. There was too much sex (and i love erotic teafs). The sex scenes were all the same. It felt as if the author substituted sex for character development.
