I enjoy minding friends' kids and I plan our activities. This is a great storybook that's also a cookbook. The graphics are fun and eye-catching, especially for small kids. The storyline is engaging and encourages kids to share special times with friends. This is a great book for child minding - sharing the story and then cooking one or two of the simple recipes is a really enjoyable way to spend time with a child. Even if you can't cook well normally you can cook these recipes.

What a creative way to spend time with your kids! My girls love the illustrations of all the animals and they love being able to relate to the cooking aspect of it. It gives them the opportunity to cook in the kitchen with their mommy and show them what they made. It developed pride and confidence in my 2.5 yr. old, while my 18 month old enjoyed naming the food. This book is a must for all.

The Goofy Gourmet: Let's Cook Today is a must have and a staple for any kid's collection. It's a wonderful story with two very cute characters, and it has a wonderful surprise at the end of the story. The illustrations are absolutely amazing. My niece who is 17 months old just stares intently at each of the pictures. My 3 year old and 5 year old just love the story and always want to cook something in the kitchen after every time we read it together...and that's about everyday. And boy do they have fun ...the kitchen gets to be a mess but I do get to spend a bit of quality with them 'creating laughter in the kitchen' as the book suggests.

As a mother of three kids all under the age of 6 1/2, it's always been hard to include the kids when I cook. The Goofy Gourmet offers a variety of simple recipes for the kids to follow without a mess. The great story is easy to read and follow that all my kids enjoy it!

My family loves this storybook-cookbook! Each time I read it to my children 'ages 2, 4 and 6' they jump up and immediately want to cook one of the simple recipes in the back of the book. My six-year-old carefully reads each recipe herself and is very proud that she can follow the recipe. My two year old and four year old then decide which character they're going to be as we act out the story while we're baking. Of course, we always have a pretend surprise party at the end of our cooking time, just like in the book. This book makes a great gift, and besides just reading together, it gives parents other ideas of activities to do with their children.
