For over 200 years the Viilazian Empire has forcibly occupied a region of the Commonland to mine for red gold, a rare magical element that will turn any person into a mage-if it does not instead transfigure them into a monster.
Ada Halentine and Galager Swift are the Commonland's newest red gold wielders, and at eighteen they are already damaged goods, for red gold has also made them infertile and has burned away their former lives. Within hours of their arrival at Castle Lavalor, their battle-hardened mentor is assassinated by powerful interlopers and they suddenly realize they're on the front of an epic conflict to save the castle, their kingdom, and each other.
The teens scramble to teach themselves magic as an enemy military force amasses nearby with their monsters and demons, but they soon discover they're unable to join powers-a vital skill. What they don't yet grasp is how they're linked beyond matters of the heart.
Get The Grand Unraveling and find out if Ada and Galager can bridge their differences and spark the gap.

About the Author
She swam in volcanic calderas, water-skied gator-infested rivers, repaired U-2 spy planes near the Yellow Sea while in the USAF, and worked in the dot-com tech wars of Silicon Valley. Yet, what excites her most these days is writing her stories and stepping onto stages and playing her own music.
It was when she first read Lord of the Rings that she knew she wanted to be a novelist. Her musical roots, on the other hand, were planted at the jam sessions of her Chicago-area childhood home. She grew up listening to her mother and father playing & singing their favorite country & western tunes, and during that time was an avid fan of the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys novels. Her musical influences range from such greats as Hank Williams, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Jim Croce, Gordon Lightfoot, John Denver, and the Beatles. And her favorite author is Stephen R. Donaldson.
Lauren graduated from Eustis High School, Florida and immediately joined the USAF, then later received her Bachelors of Science in Computer Science (University of Maryland), then spent the next fifteen years as a Software Engineer before outing herself as a TG author and musician. Today, she lives in Central Florida.
