In a frigid post-apocalyptic world, the harshest of all winters descends on the Tower clan as they prepare for war. Timo and Alyd, a husband and wife sniper team for the clan's security force, are brought together with Maldor, the mysterious elder and science director, when an enemy scout is killed. Maldor is the last in a long line of elders waiting for a chance to correct a mistake in the past. The surprise union and a supernova event that took place three-hundred-and-sixty years ago, are the only hope for mankind’s future existence. Will their efforts be enough to save what's left of mankind? Read “The Gravitational Leap” and find out. This debut science fiction novel by Darrell Lee explores the relationships between religion, science, faith, love, loss, betrayal, greed and loyalty as the clans clash for control of the ultimate power source of their world.

I purchased this book from createspace. This post apocalyptic story is well conceptualized. It starts out in omniscient and hones into a close third person story, then widens out to third person from several points of view. There is time travel involved. Then ending sends all pre-conceived notions out the window. I love that there is a praying woman in the tower. The war between tribes happens because there are those that have and those who have not. Very timely.

This book is amazing! In my opinion, an author's true artistic ability is determined by how the reader becomes captivated with the story, forms their own relationships with the characters, and can't wait to learn what will happen next. As author Darrell Lee's debut novel, he nailed it! Simply put, The Gravitational Leap is a fascinating story that seamlessly interweaves real-world events with alternate outcomes, science fact with science fiction, and love and war. Reviewed by Samantha Dewitt (Rivera) for Readers' Favorite Timo isn’t looking to become a hero when he joins the sniper unit. At least, not any kind of extraordinary one. Instead, he’s hoping just to keep his clan alive, but when he and his wife, Alyd, discover an assassin on patrol and take a knife from his pocket, they find themselves embroiled in something entirely new. A plot to travel back in time and change the course of history in a way that will change the world as they know it, and a whole lot more. For Timo, Alyd and Maldor, it’s going to do more than that if their plan is successful, but it will only succeed if time travel is real in The Gravitational Leap. This book is intriguing. You never knew what was going to happen next and you were always rooting for your favorite characters, but weren’t really sure which ones those were. Alyd and Timo were really interesting to get to know and they were a great couple together as well. You felt that there was a lot of romance going on in this book, even as there was plenty of action. For anyone who loves either type of book, you’re going to be more than happy with what you find. The Gravitational Leap by Darrell Lee is a book that you will not forget and it’s one you definitely won’t want to put down any time soon because it’s jam packed with everything you could possibly want. Overall, I loved this book.
