This book is an interesting presentation of the Civil War. The illustrations are amazing and the information presented is accurate. This book tells both sides of the Civil War and does not slant toward the South or the North. The author does an excellent job depicting the main events from the Civil War with the unique presentation of a comic strip. What an outstanding book for the 150th anniversary!! A definite must read for adults and children!!!
My pre-teen kids have very little interest in reading about history, so when I saw this I thought it might be a good way to give them a palatable overview of an important event in American history. This book was a big hit with our whole family! My son and I read it together in the evenings and I've learned a lot more than I ever knew about the Civil War. The illustrations are charmingly vintage and really held the kids' interest. Definitely recommend it!
