There are so many different translations of the Qur'an out there in the world and its surprising how some of them can vary in the interpretation of one passage. Yahiya Emerick has crafted a very readable translation that not only makes it easy to understand God's message, but offers back stories for many of the versus. Since the Qur'an was revealed over the later half of the Prophet Muhammad's life, there were verses that were revealed in relation to many different events (much like how the Israelites demanded answers from God through Moses). By using the written history of Islam and the hadeeths (sayings of the Prophet) one can see how certain versus were related to particular happenings. It gives the reader a better understanding so as not to take the words of the Qur’an out of context. It's a very insightful translation and I highly recommend it to anyone - especially those lost with the mainstream translations.
