About the Author

Will Patching writes gritty crime stories that mix murder mystery, psychological suspense and intense thrills while offering unique insights into the darker side of human nature.

His 'pull no punches' style and sparse but often brutal descriptive passages will not suit all readers, so if you are into cozy mysteries you might want to look elsewhere.

With complex plots and rounded characters, Will's novels are necessarily longer than average, usually well over 100,000 words, so these are definitely stories designed for readers who like to really get their teeth into a good yarn.

Now considered something of an expert on psychopaths, thanks to his extensive research and personal experience of people with this personality disorder, Will set up a popular website to help lay readers understand these destructive individuals and why their existence is so important to society in general.

Will's eclectic professional experience - from his teenage role as a 'gardener' weeding sewage treatment filter beds, through flying a Hawk jet very fast, very low and very dangerously before the RAF realised and booted him out, then attending Harvard on a course for potential CEOs, largely thanks to the Peter Principle of promotion, and more recently, to building his dream, a charter yacht that sank in SE Asian waters - all have led to a rich and varied life, often reflected in his writing.

You see those FIVE STARS? That is because I had to choose five because they didn’t have TEN STARS. Worth ever STAR for The Hack. Will Patching at his best, bringing light to an otherwise almost taboo subject that is not brought to light much and yet a problem that exists within all societies around the world, where some very powerful people have the power to squelch much talk about it. Evil do’er’s choose to live in darkness. Will took no prisoners in this book on that topic and has written an in depth look at the problem via a fiction vehicle. and did a SUPERB job of it. The Hack is a fast auctioned, page turner and does NOT disappoint. Get ready to gasp and have your emotions evoked. Mr. Patching doesn’t mince words, but has a masterly over words to bring a thrilling read to your reading doorstep. I SOOooooo recommend this book to readers.! VERY lifelike characters that will become your “family”...and some characters will become your ENEMY. This book took me and led me from start to finish right from the beginning. Mastery over words is Mr. Patching’s forte, such as I do not have, so I will just say... get this book and let Will Patching show you that is a correct assessment. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

A bit difficult tracking all the characters. Still an interesting despite sad ending.

The Hunter is the best vigilante yet. Highly recommended for action and justice seekers.

The Hunter is a rogue CIA Agent turned serial killer who wants to retire. His motive to put his past behind him is journalist Kate O'Sullivan .. the woman he is obsessed with. She, on the other hand, although pregnant by Hunter, wants nothing to do with him. When a couple are brutally murdered in Thailand, Kate's newspaper sends her to investigate. What she runs into are rich and powerful men, human traffickers, who seem to be evil personified. They have their eyes on her .. wouldn't she be a valued prize as a sex slave? This story could be found in today's headline news. Human trafficking is still very prevalent in parts of the world. This story highlights that fact. It's a fast-paced book, no down time, from start to finish. The subject is handled very well, although for some this may be a trigger. If so, I would recommend avoiding this one. The author has a definite way with words and his descriptive powers lift the words off the paper to become a movie in the reader's head. The characters are believable; even the secondary supporting characters are very credible. This is the second installment in this series and I would highly recommend reading them in order. Many thanks to the author for the advance digital copy of this exciting book. Opinions expressed here are unsolicited, unbiased, and entirely my own.

Really like this author's books. This one was hard to read, though, because it was so graphic. It involves not only violence against adults but child abuse, too. I skipped over a lot of it. The ending was sad. That was disappointing to me, especially as a mom to a special needs "computer nerd". I wish the author had not ended it that way. Nevertheless, it is a well-written book, and you can actually skip over the graphic stuff and still understand the plot. I am not going to give it fewer stars because of the violence. Didn't give it 5 stars because the ending made me cry, and I felt it was gratuitous.

Would be better if a lot of the graphic violence was left up to the imagination of the reader. Current themes of child abuse and computer power presented well. Enjoyable read despite the horror of the themes. Character development could be more focused. Good enough to read, just could be more developed.

I was amazed to read this book, after the last series, but this did not disappoint. Draws you in and keeps you there. A truly well written book. The characters come alive.

Will Patching is becoming one of my favourite authors. I am a huge fan of Stephen King and Dean Koontz, but Will's gritty thrillers caught my eye. I urge anyone to take a gamble and read his books, you won't be disappointed.
