Oh my, this is one awesome book! You can create some exciting and creative gifts and decor for the house or a friend's home! I love that in this book, The Hand-Stitched Surface by Lynn Krawczyk you aren't working on fabric but even paper material! Something that isn't always seen and yet this book has some wonderful ideas to make a beautiful decoration with the use of many different materials. I just enjoy trying and taking a look at the different creative projects inside. Plus, with all the easy to follow visuals and tools you need, anyone can begin stitching on surfaces! This book actually reminds me of those online courses. It has actual images of the tools in the beginning, how to do certain stitches and with each project that you can find the page in the table of contents, there is also visuals of the image and simple steps to follow. Honestly, I don't think this can be something difficult for anyone to try and understand. For me, it just looks like fun and seems very simple and fun to stitch creative designs that are seen inside! Plus, this s actually so much fun because it's relaxing and can be done anywhere. I just really enjoy the idea of making great gifts from these projects, especially the stitched cards and something I can be used in my own home or give to another is coasters! Finally, this book is just creative, unique and not the same as many on the market! It really is for someone like me who loves trying new and different things! So with this wonderful book, I'm always in search of trying something new and now I have plenty of stitching projects I can get my hands on too! "Received a free copy for review"

Working in the design field for many years now, I’ve noticed that folksy fonts and typefaces, often with purposely imperfect, hand-drawn illustrations, are the dominating design trend today. They are everywhere, and for good reason, too — they’re fun, authentic, visually interesting, and endlessly engaging. This is sewing version of all that hand-made wonder. The book is straightforward, teaching (and encouraging) purposely imperfect embroidery, perfect for amateurs, casual crafters, or anyone looking for something “real” to do with their hands (and eyes). It teaches a wide variety of approaches, stitches, and 15 basic concepts for various projects — all really fun and on-trend. The book is well-designed and beautiful, with a clear and engaging layout, typography, alongside many photos and illustrations, too. So, it’s all very clear, with direct and clear text even when describing complex or hard-to-describe approaches.
