I enjoyed the information in his book, because of its clear and concise formate. It gives you the how and why of the American diets effects on our body and brain. Good read

I've worked with a nutritionist. I've tried gluten free, dairy free, low carb, low glycemic eating methods with varying success. This book is great in that it teaches you the whys of foods and their nutritional benefits to our bodies and what our bodies need to operate. The MAD woman's of eating isn't working - obesity, diabetes, depression, Alzheimer's, anxiety, gastrointestinal upset are the most prevalent in the US. It is time to rethink why we eat and what we eat - the happiness diet.

Very informative book. Don't let yourself get hung up on the scientific terms and language. I've already started reading food labels much more than ever. The book really makes you take a look at what you're eating and it's effects on your life.

After reading this book, I began to make big changes in my diet. I have lost weight, I no longer crave empty carbs, and most importantly I enjoy what I eat! I feel much more informed about what a truly healthy diet means. This book gives great advice for what to eat and what to stay away from. It also includes quick & easy recipes which I have already used. I highly recommend this book for anyone who recognizes that their poor diet is the source of their unhappiness!

finally, a book that addresses the seemingly obvious yet under appreciated connection between food, weight loss, and mental health. the authors provide a compelling, well researched, and easy to understand argument for eating real, delicious foods and how simple it is to achieve lasting weight loss and mental well being.  I was especially fascinated by the historical background the book provides on how we got to this obesity epidemic in the first place. the recipes they provide are easy and absolutely delicious. truly a diet book for the non-dieter!

I just got this book a few days ago, and have already read it cover to cover. It's amazing how much sugar Americans eat and how much of role this plays in our disease. I had no idea it was linked to everything from skin disorders to brain fog. I was equally surprise by how unnatural vegetable fats are and how new they are to our diet. This book is a real eye-opener, and for anyone with a child or knows people with children it's a must read. After reading this book it's hard not to believe that diet is playing a major role in shaping brain disorders in our children.
