Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (Book 1)
Orphaned as a baby, Harry Potter has spent 11 awful years living with his mean aunt, uncle, and cousin Dudley. But everything changes for Harry when an owl delivers a mysterious letter inviting him to attend a school for wizards. At this special school, Harry finds friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, as well as a great destiny that's been waiting for him...if Harry can survive the encounter. From an author who has been compared to C. S. Lewis and Roald Dahl, this enchanting, funny debut novel won England's National Book Award and the prestigious Smarties Prize.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Book 2)
In this sequel to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Harry's back for his second year at Hogwarts, where the infamous Chamber of Secrets has been opened for the first time in 50 years. The monster that is unleashed is literally petrifying Hogwarts students (turning them into stone, that is), and who is the primary suspect? Harry Potter himself. Add to this some enormous spiders, a Deathday Party, a ghost named Moaning Myrtle who haunts the girls' bathroom, and lots and lots of suspense, and you'll soon find yourself engrossed in another terrific tale in which magic does exist and good eventually triumphs over evil.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Book 3)
Kids of all ages -- even adults! -- have fallen under Harry Potter's spell. And now, following the phenomenal success of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, the young wizard-in-training has returned for his third year at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry -- and more exciting, magical adventures. This time, a dangerous escaped convict is on the loose -- a reputed madman with a mysterious tie to Harry's past. Harry's life is in danger, and his sorcery skills are tested to the limit. Can he catch the criminal and discover the truth?

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Book 4)
This is the pivotal fourth novel in the seven part tale of Harry Potter's training as a wizard and his coming of age. Harry wants to get away from the pernicious Dursleys and go to the International Quidditch Cup with Hermione, Ron, and the Weasleys. He wants to dream about Cho Chang, his crush (and maybe do more than dream). He wants to find out about the mysterious event that's supposed to take place at the Hogwarts this year, an event involving two other rival schools of magic, and a competition that hasn't happened in a hundred years. He wants to be a normal, fourteen-year-old wizard. Unfortunately for Harry Potter, he's not normal -- even by wizarding standards. And in his case, different can be deadly.

About the Author:

"The idea that we could have a child who escapes from the confines of the adult world and goes somewhere where he has power, both literally and metaphorically, really appealed to me."

Like that of her own character, Harry Potter, J. K. Rowling's life has the luster of a fairy tale. Divorced, living on public assistance in a tiny Edinburgh flat with her infant daughter, Rowling wrote Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone at a table in a café during her daughter's naps. Now she has all the Harry Potter bestsellers under her belt, and has the world begging for more. From public assistance to a publishing phenomenon, Rowling's tale is truly magical.

I am 19/m/ca and I haven't read a book since junior high. I hated reading do to the fact I had to do book reports twice every month. Well my dad knew I liked the movie and new a friend that has all the recent books and he got her to lend me the first one. I read the book in about 3 day's and then I had borrowed the rest, cept for the 5th. I haven't read a book so much were I got addicted to. I still await the 5th book to borrow so I can continue the journey through harry potter's world. I'm gonna be sad when the series comes to an end. Cause I do enjoy these books so much.

This series is amazing. After I read the first two books I couldn't wait for the rest to come out. I was still in High School when the first book came out and all of my chums gave me such a bad time about harry potter. I'm glad the I waited it out though, because the 3rd, 4th, and 5th books are amazing! Every one who likes to read or even it they don't like to read should read these books, and I fully support having school aged kids read this in school. J.K. Rowling is a very gifted author and I look forward to books 6 and 7 (and any further books she is compelled to write).

I think these books are the best books in the whole universe...I've read them all at LEAST 6 times a piece. I love them. I recommend them to any age. My parents read them as well as my grandparents, and younger cousins.

At first I thought these books were going to be some kind of joke I mean witches and different things. But this isn't your regular book about witches and all that this book takes you along the ride you kind actually picture these books. My mom thought these were going to be a bad influence on children but because of the effect i think shes is going to read one of these books. I read 3 of the books last summer and the 4th one at the beginning of the school year.

J.K. Rowling, in my opinion, is an admirable writer. Her books are inspirational and very addicting with many millions or readers who love her and her books. In her books she has a way of bringing you into Harry's ordeals and problems Harry and his friends must overcome all the while keeping you on the edge of your seat anticipating the outcome. In many cases you become Harry in Rowlings books. You feel Harry's hatred towards the podigal Malfoy and the antagonizing fear of Lord Voldermort himself. They are great books for the young and the old and I encourage the reading of them by everyone!

I'm 22 and will be 23 when book 5 comes out. But it took me until all 4 books where out and a few months before the movie premiered before I read the Potter adventures. Like everyone else I thought they were strickly for children. I originally bought the first 3 books for my sister and cousins. And no 1 read them until I picked the 1st one up. Now my whole family is on the Hogwarts Express. J.K. Rowling is a master story-teller and I can't wait for The Order of the Phoenix book 5.

I think the Harry Potter books are the best books money can buy. They are so fascinating and when I read them I feel like I am at Hogwarts. I hope everyone reads them too!!!

I was an ordinary person, who hadn't read any of the books until I saw the movie. My younger sister had read like every book about 4 times and told me I was missing out. I was in college and thought I was too old for them. So I saw the movie with her and now I have read the books 3 times each and find new things each time. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of The Order of the Phoenix.

I had never read one of the Harry Potter books before the first movie came out. After I saw the movie I thought it was awesome. So I borrowed the box set from my mother of all people and read all four books in a week. Anyone who says these aren't good books should be jailed.

I don't read books just because they're a trend; and, mistaken Muggle that I was, I thought Harry Potter would be a passing trend. I was pleasantly proven wrong and very pleasantly surprised! After starting the first book to see what the "hype" was about I quickly went out to my local B&N and bought 2-4 and read them within the next 5 days! What is so charming about Harry Potter is not only the fast-paced Qudditch matches, or the good v. evil battles, but the development of characters. Harry is a teenager, going through awkward teenage moments; the same goes for Ron and Hermione and the other students at Hogwarts. Rowling's development of the characters and skillful handling of the wizarding world can sometimes make you think that maybe, just maybe, there is magic out there and we are the unfortunate Muggles. So... where the heck is book five???

I am one of those people that does not go out and buy something because everyone else is doing or reading it and the Harry Potter spectacular was one of those things. After months of my sister pushing me to read the first book. I finally decided to give in. I have only this to say about the Harry Potter series. Where is the fifth book?

The books were great! In fact, I liked them so much that when I got them in the mail, I started reading them right away and I finished in record time I think. I got them in the mail on Tuesday and finished them by Sunday night. Although I did have to stop reading while I was in school. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

I am a 20 year old student at SNHU. This summer my little cousins let me borrow the Harry Potter Series. I was cautious at first but as I started reading the books I was captivated. I could not stop reading these books. J.K. Rowling is a fantastic author who knows how to grasp the imagination of readers of all ages! Congratulations on your success. Keep on writing! S
