Susan Abel Sullivan knows the South and knows Southern humor. Her book, Haunted Housewives, calls to mind a combination of Clyde Edgerton, the supernatural, and a bit of horror. It is a wonderful combination, and I was laughing throughout an enjoyable read. This is good writing and good Southern humor. It delves into the often bizarre Elvis culture in the United States, which will have a familiar ring to anyone who knows an Elvis fanatic. This was a splendid read even for a reader like me who prefers “really scary horror.” I highly  recommend this book—I promise you will enjoy it—and you will laugh your fanny off.
