Are they each other’s downfall? Or salvation?
Athadia is a Healer, possibly the last of her dwindling race. Vaun is the warrior who rescues her—then refuses to let her go. She knows by his first touch he is a Latent, a half-blood and potential mate, but he’s also her mortal enemy. She needs to escape—hopefully with his unborn child in her womb.
Athadia keeps Vaun’s soldiers alive on their perilous journey back to Kerfdom, but once there, Vaun is ordered by his brother, the King, to kill her. Keeping her is viewed as treason, but she offers him a type of healing that has eluded him all his life. It can’t be love, though. Athadia is forbidden to take a life mate.
As conspiracies are revealed and war threatens, can they unite their people against a common foe? Or will she cause Vaun to be revealed as one of her own, ensuring they’re both killed and all hope of a future lost?

About the Author
With her first title with Mills & Boon, No Longer Forbidden?, a Book of the Month pick, Dani Collins is a promising new author. In love with stories about love, her journey to publication took many side streets. Thus she offers a variety in her stories from intensely emotional and passionate, to epic fantasy, to romantic comedy. One thing you will always find: an alpha male clashing with a spirited heroine. Showing a bit of spirit of her own, Dani chose to self-publish Hustled To The Altar, "Because I can." Always a contest darling, readers may remember Hustled To The Altar from RWA's Golden Heart (TM) Contest and the American Title Competition sponsored by Romantic Times. A working wife and mom, Dani writes on the weekends in an attic bedroom overlooking her tragic vegetable garden. In the summer, she is seconds away from a pristine mountain lake. In the winter she is too often on the end of a snow shovel. Like many, she wishes she could teleport to exotic locations rather than sit on airplanes, although that is one of her favourite places to read. After early adventures traveling to Europe and Australia, she settled down with her high school sweetheart and produced two children (one of each.) As the kids near the end of their school years, Dani is looking forward to more travel--most likely to Australia where she now has family, although Spain beckons as does Ireland. Dani would love to hear from you. Please contact her through her website at www.danicollins.com or email her at email@example.com. 4 stars I received a free copy of The Healer: A Medieval Romance by Dani Collins and this review was given freely. This full length fantasy novel is set in Medieval times and focuses more heavily on the climate of the time and clashes between clans than on romance. A misunderstanding that occurs when Single dad Vaun, who is both War General and half brother to a Kerf King, saves the head of the oppressed and rapidly expiring Alvian Clan, Athadia, results in death and war. This novel is complex with multiple twists and turns, secrecy, some irony, jealousy and revenge, the coming together of opposites both in love and in alliance of clans, some descriptive battle scenes, a brother's unconditional love, the ability to choose the sex of your baby and to heal others by your inner essence , clinical vs romantic sex, and lastly a story both of acceptance and empowerment.
