The Healing Art of Pet Parenthood is a true story about the human-animal bond, healing cancer holistically, senior canine care, and an empowering new take on the grieving process when a beloved animal passes away.
Buttons was a happy, kooky cockapoo/terrier. When she was eight, she was diagnosed with a virulent form of cancer and given six weeks to live unless she underwent amputation, chemotherapy, and radiation. Instead, her pet parent, Nadine, launched a holistic regimen which included:
- clearing Buttons's inner and outer environment of all toxins
- cleansing her body of all residual toxins, and
- giving her body the nutritional support it needed to heal itself
Four months later, Buttons was vibrantly alive and cancer free. She thrived for an additional eleven years. The Healing Art of Pet Parenthood will take you on a journey into the unlimited love and joy at the heart of all true relationships. At the same time, it will lead you deeply into yourself. This is the story of how Nadine and Buttons saved each otherÂ's lives. It is only one version of a story shared by millions of pet parents.

I greatly enjoyed this book about Nadine and Buttons' 19 year journey together. Nadine is an inspiring writer who has given us an inspiring story!
This book is a treasure. My own dog of fourteen years died a few months ago from heart disease. Her death was like loosing an inseparable part of myself. My best friend was gone, and my heart was broken. I discovered this book quite by accident, and bought it hoping it would bring me some comfort. Well, it certainly did, and then some! The story spans the nineteen years the author spent with her best friend Buttons, the deep bond that forms between them, and the emotional and spiritual growth that occurs in her own life as a result of that bond. The book was a joy to read, and not only did it help me deal with my own grief, it refreshed my spirit, and inspired me to think about life, love, and healing in a new light. I cannot recommend this book highly enough!
