Overview

The Hidden Oracle (B&N Exclusive Edition) (The Trials of Apollo Series #1) by Rick Riordan

How do you punish an immortal?

By making him human.

After angering his father Zeus, the god Apollo is cast down from Olympus. Weak and disoriented, he lands in New York City as a regular teenage boy. Now, without his godly powers, the four-thousand-year-old deity must learn to survive in the modern world until he can somehow find a way to regain Zeus's favor.

But Apollo has many enemies-gods, monsters, and mortals who would love to see the former Olympian permanently destroyed. Apollo needs help, and he can think of only one place to go . . . an enclave of modern demigods known as Camp Half-Blood.

The first installment in an exciting new five-book quest adventure involving gods and demigods by best-selling author Rick Riordan in an exclusive edition for B&N customers.

The exclusive B&N edition includes a camp letter from Apollo to Zeus!

This book was outstanding. I was a little worried because the Magnus Chase book didn't really grab me. It lacked the comedic wit that I was used too with Riordans books. But he's definitly back, reminding me why I fell in love with his writing in the first place. Great to see old friends and to meet new ones. Can't wait for the next journey.

I was super excited about purchasing this book, and I was not dissapointed! This book leaves you wanting more of the amazing wit and the bad puns. It gives you just the right amount of everything that you could want in a Rick Riordan book. I don't recommend reading this if you are not up to date with the Percy Jackson & the Olympians/ Heroes of Olympus series (two) as this brings in old characters and a lot of old references. But if you are up to date, by all means, purchase away! I did not regret buying this whatsoever! THE SHIP HAS SAILED!

As an avid fan of the original PJO series, it took me a while to warm up to Heroes of Olympus, but this book took me a few pages. I love the character development of Apollo. I love the puns, and multiple references Rick Riordan makes, and how relate able characters are. I just, have more to say, but I highly recommend. Especially to your narrow minded mother! I joke, semi.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Typically after a few books (never mind series), authors will loose touch with their writing. With hesitation I made the purchase, and I am so glad I did. Watching Apollo evolve( or downgrade, rather) was something enjoyed. At first I couldn't wait for a specific young demi god to tell him to stuff it, but by the end I really wanted to give the guy a hug. From the hilarious names to the subtle music puns this book is right on my top self of favorites. Great job, Rick!

First off we are humans and we all have are own ideas... however there can only be one answer to the millions of questions we( humans) have- where did we come from? Is there a God? What is the meaning in life? I have personally read books and I can honestly say that evolution does give me proof for these questions. Evolution was created by man, and man makes many mistakes. How can we trust his idea??? Also for all those 'evolutionests' I think one reason you choose to belive this is becouse you do not want to do your own research. If you have ever heard of piltdown man then that should be proof to you! I don't want any of you to miss out on Gods gifts! Jesus Christ is alive and will come to take his childeren to heavan! I could give you so much proof of the exsistance of God that the whole world would be filled... but no matter how much proof I give you, there will always be the step of faith. I am proud to be called a child of Christ!!!

I'm a fan of the PJ books and the HoO ad this 1 was awesome. I really liked how the book showed gay couples cause it shows kids the real world. Also i think this book is a little complex for young readers. Ages10 - 15 will really enjoy it

He's let his "inner weirdness" out with these 2! And "wassup" with all the same- sex couples? A bit much for pre & young teens don't you think? Poor Apollo ( the real one) spinning on his cloud
