Unfortunately, I'm in the minority here with my low rating. I had previously read As Far As the Eye Can See (different author) which was excellent and The High Divide was listed under my Nook's "customers also bought..." section so between that, the free preview, and high ratings was sure I'd enjoy. It started out promising but I didn't really care for any of the characters (except maybe the youngest son) and then the book got boring & I started skimming the pages. Others have certainly enjoyed so maybe you will too.
