BOOK TWO: The Stolen Bride Series

What is a Highlander to do when he falls for the daughter of his enemy?

Highland warrior, Blane Sutherland, has one mission: disguise himself as an Englishman, cross the border and retrieve Lady Aliah de Mowbray. Always up for a challenge, he agrees, pursuing his conquest with vigor--and trying to deny the powerful desire that eclipses him each time he touches his charge. A rogue of the highest order and a younger son, he has nothing to offer a lady but a broken heart.

And what is a lady to do when she cannot trust her heart?

Aliah is skeptical of the English noble who has come to take her to her father and sister in Scotland, but she pushes her doubts aside. Without word in months, she must make certain her family is safe, then she can return to England to join the convent to which she has sworn to pledge her life. But then her escort reveals his true self--he's a Highlander and his kisses are more seductive than the sweetest of wines.

Surrender never tasted so sweet...

The Highlander's Conquest (Stolen Bride #2) by Eliza Knight is a fantastic Medieval Scottish Romance set in England and Scotland. While, #2, it can be read as a stand alone. If you've not had a chance to read "The Highlander’s Reward", #1, I'd definitely suggest reading it as well, as this is the story of Blane Sutherland, younger brother to the Laird of Sutherland, who disguises himself as an Englishman to sale the Sutherland's wool in England. So when it became necessary to retrieve his brother's wife's younger sister, of course, Blane was the man to cross the border and retrieve her, bring her to Scotland to reunite with her sister and father, who had been wounded. Lady Aliah de Mowbray, is feisty, doesn't trust the barbarian Scots, beautiful, she’s been protected all her life, and plans to vow her life to the church, but when danger persists, she shows Blane she can handle a bow and arrow, just like her sister. Aliah and Blane are a wonderful couple, one who deserves their HEA, their pull toward each other kept me turning the pages, from the beginning to the end. I thoroughly enjoyed "The Higlander’s Conquest". Ms. Knight has done it again with her vivid details, her strong characters, and her engaging story. I strongly recommend "The Highlander’s Conquest". What a great read by Eliza Knight!! Rating: 4.5 Heat rating: Mild Reviewed by: AprilR

But am very disappointed that I paid $4.99 for only 182 pages. That's a short story. That's why only one star.

THIS AUTHOR IS AMAZING!  This book I felt was more about Romance, than fighting Warrior's.  Don't get me wrong, it has some fight scenes, but it was more about their relationship building.  The sex was amazing!!  Very  hot, very passionate, and what a connection our H/h had.  There is HEA, no cliffhanger, but I wanted epilogue.  Of course, I realize the next book will probably get us caught up.  The character's from Highland Reward make an appearance, which was nice.  (ljb)

I was so excited to review “The Highlander’s Conquest” by Eliza Knight. I read the first book in this series, “The Highlander’s Reward” awhile ago, and I loved it! This novel, like the first one, is filled with sexual tension, romance, and adventure, and all three help to make up a perfect novel, in my opinion! The sexual tension between Aliah and Blane was intense from the beginning, and you can tell it is going to lead to some steamy chemistry between the two of them! Blane is a sexy Scottis Highlander and Aliah is an English woman who, prior to meeting Blane, wanted to be a nun, but hen these two get together, there are fireworks. Aliah is able to bring out the best in the rough highlander, and the romance between them is at times sweet, and at times erotic and sexy. The adventure they take through Scotland, chased by Blane’s need for revenge, as well as enemies, definitely makes their story an interesting as well as adventuresome one. I really enjoyed reading this novel, but at times it was a little repetitive. It seemed like the first part of the book was based mostly on writings about Blane and Aliah constantly thinking about each other, and about how much they want each other, but not making any moves towards making that happen!  Aliah was also a little repetitive in mentioning how she will have to repent once she’s a nun, and about how her father won’t approve of her choice to become a nun.  The repetition got a little annoying at times, but the overall story made up for it. Also, it seemed like there was a lot of talk in the beginning, and not a lot of action happening. However, give me a novel about Scotland, and throw in a love story, and I’m hooked. If you enjoy romance novels, especially those that are historical, than this is a good novel to check out! I give “The Highlander’s Conquest” FOUR out of FIVE stars.

This is one of those stories where you can guess the ending right from the beginning, but, as they say, the story is all in the journey, and what a journey this was.  Knight takes her audience on a suspenseful, captivating journey that sparks your imagination.  She combines the heat of forbidden romance with the possibility of many things while remaining firmly placed within the time period in question.  This story also had me laughing out loud many times.  Things would strike me as so real and possible and ridiculously like something that would happen to me and I couldn’t help myself.   This story was even more captivating and entertaining than the 1st novel in the series and I can’t wait to see what happens next and who the 3rd brother ends up with.  It could be read as a standalone or as part of the series and I’d definitely recommend it to one and all (provided you enjoy historical romance, that is).
