To fully appreciate how the character's are the way they are in there interactions with each other, you need to read the previous books. I loved the first one, Taming the Highlander a lot. The second one was ok, Taming the Highland Rogue, and this one is very good. I loved how the character's from previous books crossed over. Some surprises in this book too. I loved the main character, Ciara - very strong minded and knew what she wanted. I read it in one day, it's that enjoyable! Ljb

Excellent read, was not sure if this was going to be any good read a couple of Harlequin books that had no love scenes but this one did. I love a strong, intelligent heroine and Ciara knew she wanted Tavis, she loved him since she was 5 yrs. old. Tavis was now a widower and swore to never marry. I cried for Ciara and her situation to do what was best for her Clan. Highly Recommend.

Ciara has been in love with Tavis forever. She was heartbroken watching him marry another. After his wifes death, grieving Tavis has given up on love. Ciara is being pressured into making a match to benefit her clan. Having already turned down two matches, waiting hopelessly for Tavis to offer for her. Ciara swallows her pride and goes to him. Ciara declares her love for him and ask him to marry her.Tavis turns her down, telling her he will never love again. Broken hearted Ciara accepts the next match the laird and her father propose for her. This will not be a love match, she resigns herself to doing whats best for the clan. Things heat up between her and Tavis as he escorts her to her intended groom. Very nice love story. This revisits characters from previous books. I liked it as a light romantic read.
