About the Author

My name's Peter Chiykowski and I write ROCK, PAPER, CYNIC—a webcomic for people who think too much and too little. It's all about celebrating things that make the world weird and exciting (like turtles, philosophy, and dinosaurs) and poking fun at things that bring people down (like bigotry, Sean Bean dying in movies, and Internet Explorer). I believe practicing constructive cynicism helps us question things that make the world crappy and better appreciate things that make it pretty sweet. Also, sometimes I just like to make silly jokes about turtles.

this is an amazing book. His ideas are amazing. and it will keep you laughing throughout the entire read. Great illustrations and it was always a pleasure for each page to see the new idea and hilarious concepts. Great purchase!

Peter has top-notch art and a great sense of humour that combine into a cute (sometimes deceptively cute) one-shot comic collection. Recommended.

a great book to own, even better to read, this book is awesome. genuinely funny jokes and humor, great illustrations, just an overall joy to flip through. I would honestly recommend this book to total strangers.

As expected, Peter's comics are strong. My original concerns was that when there are this many additional contributors, the overall quality can sometimes suffer. Fortunately, this is not the case. Nearly all the submissions are gems, and even the so-called weaker ones are definitely worth a chuckle. This is a brilliant concept, and the execution is just as strong. Everyone involved should be proud of themselves.

TOO FUNNY! Don't leave it in your bathroom as I did, or your guests will never leave. I love the concept of a "bad advice book," and with the contributions of more artists and writers than you can reasonably mention in a review, it's more than just one talented writer's twisted view of the world. Chiykowski's drawings are hilarious and the humour is smart, geeky, and fresh -- and I don't see it getting stale or dated unless humanity itself manages to get itself to a VERY unlikely point in its evolution where an "Anti-Self-Help" book no longer makes sense. In other words, never!

Seriously, if you need a good laugh don't look any further than this book. The humour is spot-on and there isn't one page that won't have you giggling out loud. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone!! (Plus it's a super convenient size to travel with!)

One of my favourite books in my library. A fun and imaginative idea!

This is a hilarious and creative concept, and I love the way that the author incorporated suggestions from his kickstarter backers as well as art and concepts from other well-known webcomic artists. This book is worth reading through quickly, but you can always leaf back through it to pick up the "bad idea" gems hidden in the background that you might have missed. It's quirky and honest and I really appreciate its playful view of the world. We're surrounded by potential for imaginative fun, and this book reminds us that sometimes the ordinary things really are the best. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go buy some bacon . . .

This book was awesome. It is printed in high quality for best reader experience, and only the tears from your uncontrolled laughter might mar the ink.

This book is the closest thing to Space Jam, without committing blasphemy..

I've enjoyed the Rock, Paper, Cynic comic for years and it's great to have (some of) it in book form. The idea of having the comic's fans not only help fund the book, but also contribute to it, was brilliant and quite possibly unique. The comics and the bad ideas are a blend of geeky, silly and weirdly profound, and the fact that my kids find them as funny as I do gives me great hope for their future. My only regret about this book was that it should have been twice as large. Maybe the next one?

Love how the ideas for the comics came as both crowd-sourced and crowd-funded on Kickstarter. This is the perfect coffee table book to keep on hand because you can open it to any page for a laugh. The level of talent required to draw so many comics over the years, then take so many new ideas and run with it is beyond what I expected. There are lots of guest artists you'll likely recognize, though honestly Peter's are my favourites. When I first got my copy, it was small enough to carry around in my purse, so I did that for a few days showing it to friends and coworkers.
