This is a BEAUTIFUL cloth hardcover book, something you can't tell from the image. The pages are of high, almost glossy quality and there are wonderful color illustrations on at least every other page. I already had the hobbit, but couldn't pass this up in the store. It's a gorgeous book to have in your collection. This is the end-all edition to have.

Bought this for my 8 yr old son that loves the LOTR! He thinks that it was one of his best Xmas gifts. Also bought a LOTR bookmark. Great for his age.
