The Holiday Gift was a sweet second chance, friends to lovers style romance. There wasn't anything overly dramatic or exciting, it was just a really solid and down to earth story. Faith is determined to prove that she can make it on her own after her husband's death a couple years ago. She's raising her kids and running the ranch, and things seem to be perfect. Then, her best friend has to go and ruin everything by asking her out on a date. Like a real date. She's not sure if she's ready for that, and she's definitely not ready to risk her friendship with Chase if things don't work out. But Chase has other ideas, he doesn't want to miss this second chance to be with the girl he's loved since they were young. A fun and beautiful romance. I loved the connection that Chase and Faith had already built through the years and the community that surrounded them. I just had a hard time finding something that stood out and make this one something special. **I voluntarily read a review copy of this book**

A heartwarming read for the holidays with a very stubborn heroine. I have to agree with her sister's observation, that Faith is possibly being deliberately obtuse when it comes to the attentions of long time friend Chase. For his part, Chase perseveres thru the holiday season with a good result.

Faith and Chase have been friends since they have been teenagers. When Faith's husband died Chase helped Faith to get back on her feet. He has loved her for a long time and has been waiting for her. When will she realize he loves her? Wonderful Christmas Story. Mow you will enjoy it.

Another winner from RaeAnne Thayne! While I love all her books I especially enjoy her holiday stories and this one definitely didn't disappoint. This is a wonderful story of a second chance at happiness for Faith Dustin. The oldest of the three Nichols sisters, her and her two children have been living and working at the family "Christmas Ranch". She longs for peace and quiet when chaos and craziness surrounds her. Thank goodness for her neighbor Chase Brannon. He's the one person that seems to understand her. He's always been a great friend but that changes one night with a kiss under the mistletoe. Chase has loved Faith for most of his life. He blew it big time when he was younger and now that she is available again he doesn't want to do anything to blow it again. Then that kiss!! Chase is determined to get Faith to give him a chance and soon he has the whole family in on it! A fantastic holiday read you don't want to miss.

I love friends to lovers stories and I also love Christmas stories. The Holiday Gift combines both of my favorites and I loved every word of it. Ms Thayne speaks to her readers in ways you can't imagine and her story just touches my heart in so many ways. Although Faith is a tad annoying when she tries to push Chase away and even tries to matchmake him with someone else, it is hard not to feel her pain and her fear. I am really glad that Chase was patient enough and I just love how he brought back Christmas to her life. You can never go wrong with a RaeAnne Thayne book and The Holiday Gift is no exception. Can't wait to read more of her books.

This is another G-rated holiday romance book set in Pine Gulch, ID and continues the story of the Nichols sisters. Faith Dustin has to face that her best buddy, Chase Brannon, has more feelings towards her than friendship. It was nice to re-visit some of the characters that I met in "A Cold Creek Christmas Story." (I received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest and unbiased opinion.)

Faith can't figure out what is wrong with Chase. He is her dearest friend and biggest help and supporter since her husband, Travis, death a few years ago. She wouldn't have turned the ranch around after Travis died without Chases help. He tells her someone wants to ask her out. She is totally surprised. She begins to realize she needs to leave fear behind and rejoin the world. I love the fact that these sisters have overcome great tradegy and an unsettled childhood to become strong, independent and successful women. The strong family bond they have is amazing. I love visiting the Christmas Ranc and being immersed in the holiday spirit in their lives and hearts.

RaeAnne Thayne has done it again! What a wonderful story, perfect for the holidays. Faith is widowed with two children and her friends and family have been helping her for the past few years. When her neighbor decides to take a chance on love with her the entire story is magical.

RaeAnne Thayne has done it again. The Holiday Gift is a wonderful story. It is a story about second chances and being brave enough to take them. I really enjoyed this book and catching up with the Nichols sisters. Faith is a widow with two young children. She has been working to keep the ranch going with the help of her best friend and neighbor Chase. Chase has had his fair share of struggles. He is divorced and the father of a young child. Chase has been in love with faith since they met as teenagers but he has never told her. Now has decided it is time to let Faith know about his feelings for her. Faith is scared because she does not want to lose her best friend. I hope you enjoy this beautiful story of taking a second chance on love with the help of Christmas magic.

For Faith, Chase has always been that best friend, the one who never lets you down. When Chase wants more, Faith is determined to not go down that road. She doesn't want to ruin the friendship they have. When Chase kisses her under the mistletoe, she can't help but feel more though. With Faith's children helping him, Chase does his best to get Faith to be open to love, with him. Wow, what an amazing story! It kept me hooked from beginning to end. Highly recommend it!

I collect holiday stories/books and enjoy this time of year. The Harlequin Cold Creek series has long been a favorite of mine. It is always so much fun to catch up with characters, especially during the holidays, and The Holiday Gift was no different. Chase Brannon and Faith (Nichols) Dustin have known each other since Faith came to town, with her sisters, as a teenager. She and Chase have backstories that will break your heart, warm your heart, and put you firmly in their corner. Chase has probably been in love with Faith since those early days however (and you’ll have to read the book to see why) she ended up happily married to Chase’s friend. He’s remained in the good friend role, even thru the loss of her husband, Travis, but since this is their story, he is stepping out of that role…one tentative step at a time. Ms. Thayne made me care about these two and I have to admit to being a “big bit” annoyed with Faith. Therein lays the story, though, so it is worth reading and enjoying Faith and Chase’s journey. It was also fun to visit with family members, from other books, although this is truly a standalone. As I said, above, I’m pretty much a buy/read/save holiday book person so it was fun to catch up with everyone. For me, I recommend this heartwarming, heartbreaking, fun and touching holiday story. Nobody does it better than RaeAnne Thayne.

A sweet story about finding love again after loss ... where you least expect it, but always knew! I kept wanting to kick Faith when she was pushing him away, but I loved them together and all of their extended family rallied around them made for a fun read! Widow Faith Dustin can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel of grief that has surrounded her since losing her husband a few years ago. She's had great support from her family and community and most of all her best friend who was always there to support her and her kids and pick up all the slack. When she realizes he feels more for her than just friendship, she's terrified! Chase Brannon let Faith slip through his hands and marry his good friend all those years ago, and he's not planning to make the same mistake again. He knows he has to throw his hat in the ring before she's swept off her feet by some other cowboy, but he's going to have to be patient with her because he can see the panic in her eyes. As she stubbornly tries to keep him at arms length, will Faith realize what she is giving up before it's gone?

I love all of Ms. Thayne's books. This was a welcome wrap up for the sisters. Faith is the most set in her ways of the Christmas Ranch sisters. She always took the brunt of any punishment and all the responsibility for her younger siblings. Faith definitely doesn't want any romantic entanglements and likes the status quo. Chase had loved Faith from the moment his mother sent him to the Christmas Ranch to see if they need anything back when they were barely teenagers. He lost her to his best friend and now that she is single again, he doesn't want to lose his second chance. Things get good when you throw together a pig headed woman, a man who won't give up, young children, and a passel of puppies.

I loved this story of second chances, missed chances and new beginnings. Chase and Faith are both wonderful characters and their collective children have known each other forever. Faith lost her first love and father of her children a few years ago. Chase has always been in love with with her but she was his best friends wife. He knows the right time for them is now, all he has to do is show her. This is where the story is most delightful. I laughed, cried and enjoyed every word. Great dialogue, funny situations and a heartwarming conclusion. Everything a Christmas story should be!

There's nothing better than your dearest oldest friend, they are always there for you. But if that person also happens to love you, is the possible chance of romantic relationship worth to risk the friendship? Faith didn't think so when it came to Chase. I found this story somber, and more than that, the romance left me wanting, for me it felt incomplete as it was, even with the epilogue. And that made me little sad because I had set such a high hopes for this Christmas novel. The friendship between Faith and Chase had been tested through fire over the years. That was solid, unwavering, something you could always count on. And the way Faith acted, Chase was a saint. So understanding, kind, giving, generous, patient, tolerant, you name it. And I understand the fear Faith was facing, considering all the loss in her life, the possibility of loving again was terrifying to her. What I really didn't like in the story was the matchmaking Faith was doing. Boldly pushing Chase to another woman, again and again even after his feelings towards Faith were clear. The was so disrespectful and rude, I couldn't get over it. Thankfully for Faith, Chase is a better person than I am. There's children, puppies, horses, and Christmas cheer. All the trimmings to a wonderful celebration. But the story mostly focuses on the inner battle Faith is having about not wanting to love again or change anything on the relationship she has with Chase, thus, there's no development of the relationship in the tale, but lots of woman's melancholy battle of moving on with life after series of devastating losses in her life. So along these lines, it does give a different kind of Christmas story, more fitting to the women's lit than romance genre. But the children are cheerful, there's good will towards the neighbors, there are puppies born, Christmas wishes comes true, and lots of good eating around the family table, while pondering about life and the future and change and possibly even romance... ~ Three Spoons
