This book contains some beautiful artwork and examples of illumination. It contains some interesting insights into the relation of the Holy Grail to various mystic and religious myths and historical conjecture. However, I think the other reviews are over-enthusiatic about the quality of the author and his ideas. What other critics have deemed the 'true role of women' is really a thinly vieled MISANDRY (hatred of men and masculinity) which the author weaves throughout the text. Buy it for the pictures, but, find another book for an historical perspective instead of propoganda.

This is great stuff, tells about Mary and the true role of women, similar to Defenders of the Holy Grail (without the songs). This is a great starting point, but so is Baigent!
