Honestly one of the worst written books I have ever read. The plot wanders endlessly and has very little to connect the main players. If you enjoy reading about abused men and women and how they are dealing with it in an unreal setting, then this is what you want to read. If you enjoy well written romantic thrillers, then don't bother with this one!
From the moment he begins deposing her, Joe Campbell knows that Hannah Smith is more than she seems. Beneath her mousiness, he can see a hidden beauty with secrets that he is determined to learn. Hannah, for her part, finds Campbell terrifying. The secrets she keeps are ones that are a matter of life and death, and not even a sexy as sin lawyer can make her reveal them. Yet, when danger from her past threatens, Campbell is the one she turns to for help and protection for her and her daughter. ...................... Within days after their initial meeting, Campbell and Hannah find themselves in an unbelievable nightmare. Campbell is on a hit list, placed there by a joke of Hannah's. Hannah is on the run for her life from a vengeful, insane husband, and Campbell finds himself a reluctant father to his abandoned son and cat. ......................... *** If two people ever needed each other, these two scarred and flawed ones do. The chemistry between them boils over. Passion is spiced with danger and tenderness. While their quick turn from anger to passion might be stretching of one's imagination, nonetheless, the story is compelling and fast paced. ***
In the Corpus Christie area, personal injury attorney Joe Campbell takes a deposition from realtor Hannah Smith. Though he goes after her with a vengeance for his clients the O¿Connors, who insist mold was in the house, he finds himself dreaming of making love her too. Hannah attacks back calling him names and accusing his client of causing the mold problem. When he threatens to dig into her background, Hannah panics. Hannah fears that her former husband Sir Dominic Phillips will find her and their daughter Georgia. She fled his abuse taking their child with her. However, Dominic already knows where Hannah lives and works; he vows that no one walks out on him. As Hannah and Joe become acquainted with one another via the lawsuit, they begin to see a deeper caring individual radically different then their first impression. They fall in love, but both has demons to overcome, hers being life threatening. THE HOT LADIES MURDER CLUB is an exciting romantic suspense tale though the final twist feels off kilter. The story line is fast paced as Joe and Hannah combat one another before falling in love. The club formed by the four ladies is reminiscent of a gender bending view of the court room scene of How to Murder Your Wife. Anne Major lives up to her surname as a key sub-genre writer with this exhilarating story. Harriet Klausner
