The House Behind The Cedars is written with such ardour that you feel yourself being propelled into the story and to begin to feel the actual emotional state of the characters. This story tells of the barriers of color, heritage and interracial problems of love and how these ever present factors can destroy something that can be so beautiful. Some parts can be rather drawn out but overall a great book, one that can be read over and over again.
