The House Mate is a great addition to Kendall Ryan's Roommates series. Although it is book 3, all the books in this series can be read as stand alones. This is definitely an amusing and entertaining read, featuring single dad, Max, and his new nanny, Addison. Max is the typical commitment phobic bachelor who gets his world turned upside down when an ex from the past drops their one year old daughter, Dylan, on his doorstep unexpectedly. I loved Max's transition from tough ex-military man and alpha businessman to teddy bear father. He is equal parts assertive and sweet and his willingness to change his entire life for Dylan was beyond sexy. The push and pull of his feelings for Addison (and hers for him), as well as some other women drama, will have you rooting for them to get their happy ending. I did find Addison a little immature, but that can be expected since Max is 10 years older than her. She is the perfect girl next door though and I loved the light that she brought to Max and Dylan's lives. Yes, there's instalove and things move very quickly (and predictably) between Max and Addision, but overall this was a fun, feel good, and lighthearted romance. *I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book*

This is only the second book I have read by this author and I'm thinking I need to start one clicking her other books, I thought book 2 in the Roommates series was good but The House Mate is even better. What's not to love about a hot single daddy to a cute one year old, add in a sense of humour and you get a perfect read. Max finds himself suddenly becoming a daddy to a gorgeous one year old, he hasn't a clue what he is doing so he needs to find himself a live in nanny. Addison is perfect for the job, she loves children, needs a place to live after having her heart broken and her personality is perfect for the job, sweet, calm and just a little bit shy but she is hiding something, will Max find out and will it really matter..... There is no doubting the chemistry between Max and Addison but there is also a little girl who relies on them both to consider . I loved watching their relationship develop and I laughed at the banter between them, this book has the perfect mix of love and humour and for me it's a must read. Great job Kendall Ryan I'm off to check out your other books

The other side of Kendall's writing, that's what I'm calling this one. LOL! They are usually smoking hot and this one is a bit tamer. The sweet, the sexy and the fun. This one had all three. The hot single Dad who needs help raising his baby and the lady who answered his call for help. I loved these two together. I love that they were written so well and very mature. I think that made this book so much more for me. I don't think I could of enjoyed it as much as I did had they been written a bit immature. This series is still going strong for and I'm enjoying each release. Grab them if you haven't read them yet!

The House Mate is definitely my favorite of The Roommates series so far! I tend to like books more when there are little children in them, and this was no different. Dylan is such an adorable little girl! I really liked both Max and Addison. I feel like I got to know more and see more of them as people as compared to the other two books and those characters. I still think there could have been a little bit more of a history/past update with them though. I wasn't expecting the book to start the way it did and that threw me for a bit of a loop, but I enjoyed the rest of the storyline. I would have liked just a little bit more in the epilogue as well, especially because it was so cute! This is one of my favorite Kendall Ryan books, if not my favorite, to date.

After reading a couple of books by the author, it is no surprise that Kendall Ryan has become one of my favorite authors. She knows how to execute a great story filled with sexy characters and swooning romances that will leave you wanting for more. In The House Mate, we get to meet Addison and Max, two opposites who are trying to find a way to survive the obstacles that have recently come their way. In his thirties, Max Alexander has it all, he has money and women around him ready to please his every command. He has built a successful company, but he has never truly found love. This all comes crashing down on him when his ex shows up at his house to deliver the baby that they conceived over a year ago. Now he is a father who has no clue what to do, but when he hires a in-house nanny to take care of his daughter, he suddenly finds himself having feelings for her. He knows that she is a distraction that he can't afford to have, but as he gets to know her better, the more he wants her to be his. On the other hand, Addison has recently broken up with her boyfriend and quitting school at the last minute has her on edge. She needs to find a job quickly, and that is when a sudden opportunity seems to be solving all of her problems. Yet, little did know that her boss was going to change her life forever. I really enjoyed reading this book, the characters have an instant chemistry that they can't deny. Living under the same roof definitely makes them worse for them because they can't run away from their feelings. As the two come to terms with their feelings, there are definitely things in their pasts that could jeopardize their future and they need to fix that. I loved Max, he truly is a great dad and swoon worthy character that will melt your heart. Addison is fun and is not really sure of what she wants at times, but she is trying to figure out what's best for her and those she loves. Overall, this was a quick romantic read that I would highly recommend picking up. :) ***ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.***

The House Mate By: Kendall Ryan 5 Star Review by Kristie K A luscious tale to make you swoon, sweat, and pant, Kendall Ryan definitely makes the third time a charm… The House Mate rings in as the third installment of the Roommates series, and like the first two, it certainly doesn’t disappoint. A smokin’ hot single dad, his adorable little girl, and his obliviously gorgeous nanny with a heart as big as Saturn…what’s not to love? Max Alexander is a self-made success. His company is flourishing, his daughter is thriving, and his love life…well, two out of three ain’t bad… When the new nanny arrives, though, his less than active libido makes a resounding comeback! Addison Lane has always wanted a career around children. After an ugly breakup, and a major hit to her confidence, she finds her salvation in the form of a job opportunity as the live-in nanny for an adorable little girl. The perfect new job has only one minor issue…Addison’s body can’t stop reacting to her gorgeous new boss. This book was such a great read! I have always been a huge fan of Kendall Ryan, and she delivers yet again with The House Mate. A sweet romance with plenty of drawbacks, snags, and snafu’s for them to overcome, it surrounds you with “ahhh’s”, “awww’s”, and “oh my’s”. A complete immersion in the adoration for one little girl, and the unavoidable attraction, respect, and ultimate devotion for each other. The story was full of subtle twists and turns, hills and valleys that kept you guessing, and your stomach never quite out of the clouds. Ms. Ryan has created and executed an awesome plot and storyline, kept it subtle and unique in it’s genre, and delivered it with her usual panache. The characters are amazing. I connected immediately with Addison, fell in love Max, and was completely enchanted by little Dylan. Character development was on point, and perfect for this story, though I wouldn’t mind knowing more about their histories. And, of course, the writing was genius. Kennedy Ryan is hella talented, and has delivered yet another masterful read. Kristie K

The House Mate is the third book in the Roommates series and it can be read as a standalone. One night, thirty-five year old, workaholic Max Alexander finds himself the sole responsible for his one year old daughter. A daughter he didn't know he had. Knowing he'll need help, he decides to hire a nanny. What he didn’t expect was to meet young Addison Lane. Addison needs a new start after a bad breakup. So when she finds the ad to be the nanny of a one year old girl, she applies. When she meets baby Dylan, she falls immediately in love for her. What she didn't expect was the strong attraction for her father, Max. Will Max and Addison keep their relationship professional? Or will they cross the line between employer and employee and become lovers? I loved The House Mate! The story is very sweet and sexy, with the perfect amount of drama. I loved that it was told from Addison's and Max's POVs. And the ending? Perfect! Addison is a sweet and kind young woman that always dreamed of becoming a teacher. However, she put those dreams aside to help her boyfriend achieve his dreams. And things ended up badly for her. Now she has the opportunity of a fresh start. She loves children and falls for Dylan when she meets her. She tries to fight her feelings for Max because not only he's her boss but also because she's afraid of how acting on those feelings would affect her future relationship with Dylan. I loved Max! He made me swoon a lot! He's a hardworking man that started his company after leaving the army. He never thought about settling down and having kids. But when he meets Dylan he falls completely in love with her and easily falls into the role of her father. Meeting Addison changes him even more and he starts thinking more about the future. Once again, Kendall Ryan gives us a very sweet and sexy story, with great characters. The House Mate will hook you from the first page and you won't be able to stop reading.

Ms. Ryan knows how to set off steam and she proves that with her Roommates series. The House Mate raises the temperature level to HOT. A single dad devoted to his daughter, yet clueless in the love department. What's more sexy than that? Kendall Ryan sweetened the pot with a dose of family but stayed true to the sex appeal readers have come to know and love. Full of heat with a touch of sweet equals out to a combo that's hard to beat.

Loved this book! This was a very sexy read that had me swooning hard. Max & Addison both are trying to get their lives in order & I liked how their worlds come together in this sweet loving story. Once you start reading you will be captured in. This can be read as a standalone but I highly suggest reading this whole series because each of these men Author Kendall Ryan has created will have a special place in your book boyfriends hearts.

Lighthearted and romantic, with splashes of drama and comedy! Loved it and want more!!! The House Mate is ANOTHER great read from Kendall Ryan! Seriously...the woman is amazing at keeping her readers entertained and surprised with each new book she writes! This book is about Max and Addison and their boss/employee, single daddy/nanny relationship. And right from the beginning, BAM!...Surprise!...Max, you ARE the father! Little one year old girl, Dylan, turns Max's world upside-down. But like everything else, Max is determined to be the best dad to her, and provide for her completely. So to ensure Dylan isn't carted off to some busy daycare, Max decides to hire a nanny. Now enters Addison, with her caring nature, compassion and tenderness. But what Max wasn't expecting was his undeniable attraction to the young and vibrant woman. And for Addison to feel just as strongly as Max - well, well, well...let's just say playtime isn't just for kids! ;) The House Mate was charming, lively and 100% engaging! Even though the story is a "daddy falls for the nanny", the characters were beyond enjoyable and relatable. Max and Addison's chemistry was scorching hot, which makes the reader giddy with anticipation for their interactions together. I was constantly intrigued by their relationship, and could only hope that they'd both realize how perfect they were for each other, and that Addison fits into both Dylan and Max's life flawlessly! Each new book Kendall writes tops the list as my favorite from her! I am completely spellbound as to how she managed to do that, but I'm not going to question it. Kendall is positively an exceptional and authentic writer, and The House Mate is undeniable proof as to her phenomenal ability at storytelling. Without a doubt, a 5 star must read!

“It was as though he could see me, all naked and raw in front of him, and other times it was as though he could see even further than that–into my soul.” To me there is nothing sexier than seeing the guy who doesn’t do relationships fall. Add in the fact that the guy suddenly finds himself a single father, and that is the perfect romance recipe. The House Mate is the third book in the Room Mates series, but can be read as a stand-alone novel. The House Mate follows the story of Max and Addison. Max has been living the life. He’s successful and could have any woman that he wants. His only flaw, he doesn’t do relationships. Yes, Max is living the perfect life, but that perfect life is all about to change….Addison has had the worst luck when it comes to love. After her last failed relationship, Addison has decided that she needs a fresh start. As luck would have it, the perfect job is about to drop into her lap….. I just adored The House Mate. The story-line was absolute perfection. This was such a wonderful book to spend the day getting lost in. It was perfectly paced and the characters were so easy to connect with. I fell in love with them all instantly. I really enjoyed Max’s character. He was perfectly imperfect. He was doing his best to adjust to his new circumstances and I felt like his character grew a lot. He was a wonderful father. I adored Addison. She came into Max’s life at just the right time. She had a huge heart and loved his little girl as if she was her own. And the chemistry between these two was just amazing. I knew from the moment I read Max and Addison’s first encounter that their relationship was going to be something special and these two did not disappoint. Their connection was hot and instant and I honestly couldn’t wait to see how things would progress with the two of them. Overall, I thought The House Mate was a really fun read. This story had a lot of heart and passion. The characters were fun and easy to connect with. Max and Addison’s story had just the right amount of romance, sexy good times and of course a little drama. This story was everything that I was looking for and a totally enjoyable read.

This book warmed my heart. There is something about single parent romances that makes me smile. I think this book has so much love and affection I couldn't not help but swoon at the characters. There's so much emotion. The characters are amazing. I love how the little baby brings their lives closer and closer It's just the book that I've been waiting for. It's one of my favourite tropes and I'm genuinely in love with the story and the characters.
