The Hunt: Target, Track, and Attain Your Goals by David Farbman

Do you consider yourself a hunter? If you have you ever dated,played sports, or held a job, then your answer should beyes. We are always hunting—trying to track downand take the things we want, the things that will make our lifebigger, better, safer; more satisfying, exciting, and just plainfun.

In The Hunt, serial entrepreneur, hunter, and OutdoorHubfounder David Farbman offers a way of thinking about work, life,and our connection with the world based upon the ancient disciplineof hunting. The Hunt will inspire anyone striving for moreto think like hunters—with poise, concentration, and skill;to identify their targets; and, with focus, determination, andsatisfaction, to achieve those goals.

Specifically, The Hunt shows how to:

  • Get a bigger, clearer picture of your life and goals, anddiscover things about yourself and your ability that you’venever noticed or seen before
  • Gain the hunter’s special skills at observation andperception, to understand your environment;
  • Learn “predatory consciousness” – the fullunderstanding of your prey, whether business partners orcompetitors, so you can predict their actions;
  • Harness and leverage every opportunity to obtain your desiredoutcomes and inspire your best thinking
  • Fully understand where to pick battles, and where not to“hunt” at all.

The principles of The Hunt will give you a clearer,sharper lens for seeing the world and shaping your role in it.You’ll make better decisions, form stronger alliances, buildbetter strategies, target bigger wins, and uncover moreopportunities. Best of all, you will become a true hunter when youknow who you are, what you want, and how to get what you’rehunting for.

Just got The hunt and finished it on the same day Holy crap is this a great book! I don't like business books and how to stuff but this one was terrific! Read this book and you will realize you are a hunter and you can get more targets that you are after!

I have never read a business book that is this relatable. From the moment I picked up The Hunt, I couldn’t put it down. I have been using the tips and knowledge that Mr. Farbman provided and I can already see the changes making an impact.

I am the type of person who loves goals and checking off items on my checklist. I never thought of myself as a hunter but after reading The Hunt I call myself a hunter! Farbman’s target and goal setting system helped me reevaluate how I check off my goals. Great read!

I finished this book in less than 4 hours and am going to read it through again. The Hunt read very fats and easy yet I took away some terrific takeaways that I am using already today. Anyone who wants an edge or is curious about the hunter in them should read this book!

I took away some usable takeaways that instantly had me controlling conversations I would have sat quiet in before. I also closed 2 deals last week using David Farbmans Fluid Execution or Real time Execution chapter and the one on leverage. This book was a total surprise and I listened to our CMO who recommended it and I am glad I did. Anyone who wants more out of life will gain from this book.

This book presented an interesting way of looking at life and what you want. I'd never thought about hunting in any way other than toward animals, but his ideas on hunting in regard to one's professional and personal careers are quite accurate. I think this book would be a great book to give to a recent high school or college graduate.

Throughout my career, MBA and undergraduate business programs I've been exposed to a library full of self-help books. I love the straight forward, honest approach that David Farbman takes in his writing, which is relatable to everyone from stay at home parents to Fortune 500 executives and countless life paths in between. His goal setting techniques have allowed me to "get above the trees" and prioritize what's truly important to ME, then lock in and execute. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking to take their life to the next level, in the board room, at home and in every facet of what they do.
