I bought this for my granddaughter. I also read it. The book was okay but not written by L. J. Smith. I hope they end the series soon, because I am not real happy with the writings of Aubrey Clark.

Evryone is entitled to their own personal opinion. But in my mind, I liked the original trilogy better, no offense to Aubrey Clark or any of her fans. This is becoming a sad copy of what happenedto The Vampire Diaries.

NOT written by L.J. Smith and not true to her characters at all. Cassie is completely unlikeable in the series since the ghost writer was hired to replace the series creator. Writing style is fine, but not at all in keeping with the original trilogy.

I loved the Secret Circle trilogy but to see these spin offs written and see LJ Smith's name listed as the author and splashed across the front of the book just makes me sick. She's been bullied out of her own series' and had characters that wouldn't exist without her imagination taken from her but they still want to use her name to sell the product. It's disgusting.

Not worth the read at all. I've tried to read this book, but the ghostwriter has basically destroyed the strength, passion, and internal "power" of all of these characters; and everything in it feels completely inaccurate to who the characters are personality and everything else-wise. She's taken their 3-d lives, and pretty much flattened them and made them all about the teenage melodrama. Aubrey Clark wrote it so inaccurate to the original books and the general vibe, since they were written about 20-25 years later - it seems like they disappeared from the 80's and magically appeared in the current day, which makes no sense at all. All of the inaccuracies keeps stopping me from getting invested at all in these books, practically every sentence. All of the characters are inaccurate to who they are, and the new characters are just unrealistic. I was protesting reading them at all at first, but was mildly curious, and I was wrong to even try. Whoever thought this was a good idea to destroy the amazing, epicness of the Original Trilogy should be fired. They are so bad that they deserve a zero.

So I geuss I'll be the first person to give this a two then. Anyway, I have to admit, I liked the book, it was "ok" as books go. I might have liked it a little bit more if the original author of the series had written it instead of the new one but... I thought Cassie had changed a bit and I didn't really like it, not to say it wasn't a bit nessary. Characters have to grow and change in series and books right? With that said, I know the new book is now out and I do plan on reading it as soon as possible. I think I will donate my copies of the series though... new space on the shelves. All I need now is for L.J to finish the Night World series and I'll be happy. Enjoy!

It is very well written for being a teen series, but many advid readers are downing before reading it. It has been said do not jusdge a book by its cover, give this series a chance. It is a great read for teenagers and preteens.

The introduction of a half-sister, Scarlet, in book #4 as an evil sister leads to Cassie repeatedly acting on her own with disastrous results. The new author has a slightly different style and appears to be action oriented which is a characteristic of the genre'.
